OK, as soon as it comes to the dollar movie. In fact yesterday I finally saw Night in the Museum. For fifty cents! Tuesday special. And this is a nice theater, I kid you not. You just have to wait until right before they become available on DVD.
OK, some times I cannot wait and pay the big bucks. Hot Fuzz sounds good!

J and I saw Hot Fuzz on Sunday and loved it. It's by the same guys who did Shaun of the Dead, which was just pure-dead brilliant (pun intended, hee!).

The only complaints I've heard are that it pokes fun at and overuses the American glorification of gun-violence, which, giving the timing of this movie's release, will touch on a sore point for a lot of people. But I don't feel that the movie was saying "Look! Guns are great! Let's shoot people!" but rather that the whole glorification of gun violence is completely absurd.

A very good movie, indeed.

I don't even remember the last time I went to a movie.....oh yeah...it was Harry Potter and the Camber of Secrets about 1.5 years ago. Oh I miss the movies!

My life is the Wiggles and Baby Einstein for the forseeable future!

I agree with you, it made the whole gun violence thing look absurd. It took it to the level where it was so over the top it was comical.

I loved the mine thing though...

One of the theatres here in town offers a "Stars and Strollers" movie event where parents can bring their babies to a special show. A changing table and blankets are set up at the front of the theatre, so you don't have to leave to change your babies' diapers, and the sound is turned down so it isn't too loud for the children (or the parents, for that matter ...
). I've gone a few times with my friends and their toddler, and I think it's a really great idea. (It's hilarious watching their daughter watch movies: she doesn't understand what's going on, but she's a very avid movie-goer and pays very close attention to the screen. When we saw Pirates of the Caribbean 2, during a very exciting scene she crammed both her fists in her mouth and stared wide-eyed at the screen, as if she understood how exciting and climatic it all was. She's a hoot!

I just went this weekend and saw Redline. I wouldnt recommend going to the theater to see it. It had amazing special effects and the cars were to die for...But the acting was cheezy and I cant stand movies that are really cheezy...May 25th the final Pirates of the Carribean come out and the latest Harry Potter. My hunni has already gotten a baby sitter so we can go to the movies twice that day..LOL. Really expensive around here but we are both HUGE fans of those movies and we only go to the movies about once every two yrs. So we will just skip the next two yrs..LOL...Go see Blades of Glory and Meet the Robinsons..Friends of mine have raved about those two movies also. Ill be waiting for DVD for those.

Don't forget, May 4th is the new Spider-Man movie, too!
J is thisclose to buying tickets to the May 3 midnight showing, he's so excited about seeing it ... (We're big movie geeks, can you tell?)

BTW, I totally love the screenname. I keep hearing a kissy-kissy voice going "Whosa my Hercules? Huh? Whosa my Hercules?"
(Umm, that might not have been your intent, but it amuses me nonetheless. I'm a very strange person.

I'm guessing they showed that preview before Hot Fuzz -- they did here, anyway. During the scene where Simon Pegg's character was standing out front of some flats, getting ready to go running, did that look like the same street they used in Shaun of the Dead? J and I thought so.

Its our own lil thing. And if I say that anywhere in the house he comes running at a dead sprint and jumps on my lap and looks like me like "Im right here mommy" I actually had to get Bubba for Dave because Herc was supposed to be his but turned out to be my baby boy..Im trying to figure out how to spell his nickname but I can only think of the spelling used for a cheerleading jump..Herky...Hes my big tuff Herky-Man....Ok I need therapy or something I might be a lil too attached to my big man!!!

Ok we saw Hot Fuzz tonight - it was soooooo funny!!!!! We laughed and laughed the entire way through - the Brits really know how to do comedy!

As for the whole Virginia Tech thing - if anyone thinks that then they haven't seen the movie, they have absolutely nothing to do with each other. I actually don't think one person in the movie was killed by a gun!
