So, I've been asked in the past to take headshots of people at work for different projects or stories. I'm a technical writer, and while it is not part of my duties, I've been asked when everyone else is really busy.
I'm ranting now because I got an email from my boss, who is at home, asking me to take a headshot of someone in an other building (I work on a University campus). Now, normally I wouldn't mind, but our graphic designer is out, which means her office is locked, with the camera inside. Had my boss sent me an email earlier (say...before 7 this morning) I would have had time to grab my own camera to do so.
I think the other reason I'm soooo frustrated, is that I'd be taking a picture for another writer, who I KNOW is just too lazy to 1) learn how to take a decent headshot and 2) to walk to the other building.
Ok, so it's probably lame that I'm frustrated with this, but I wasn't given any warning, it's above and beyond my duties, and I know my boss just expects me to do it, without complaint. Also, the graphic designer and I were talking and we found out that one of the two other writers most likely got a "exceeds expectations" review, when one of them rarely has enough work to keep him busy, and the other hasn't been here a year and she's very MEAN to us (the same one that "can't" take the picture).
I mean, I was being MALICIOUSLY TARGETED by my manager's former supervisor and my manager KNEW about it and didn't warn me!!!!! The fact that I didn't quit should exceed her expectations. lol Ok, I know THAT is lame thinking, lol.
