Yesterday I decided that Mary-Jane was never going to have her babies and sure enough, today she had them! She was meowling at me all morning and I thought maybe she was hungry so I fed her but she seemed disinterested. I went back to bed but she wouldn't leave me alone. She was laying beside me in bed meowing and licking herself but I didn't think much of it. I decided to skip my first period and stick around to see if anything happened. I was about to leave for school and then my mom showed up and I told her Mary-Jane was acting weird. She was doing the weird meowing thing and I jokingly told her maybe she wants us to follow her to her nest! So sure enough she led us to the nest, after many hours of meowing before we clued in. The second we were in the crawlspace with her (where her nest is) and she was snuggled in she started having contractions.

I believe they are all boys. The first one was breech and MJ had a problem with that. She screamed a whole lot. His name is Ferris and like his brothers he is blonde with white on the belly and paws. He took half an hour to come out. Number two was Clyde who was very big. He has a white crest, and came out shrieking. He took an hour to be born. Number three is Oliver. He is the runt and had us worried because his sac was partially out of Mary-Jane but not moving for about three hours before Clyde tore open his sac and he tumbled out. They are all healthy and beautiful and sleeping with their very tired mum.

an ice cube in Iowa...
3 little lovelies!!!

You may discover that they are not all boys...they tend to look the same, until a week or two later, sometimes. Give their hoo-ha's a chance to develop a bit, and perhaps they'll be easier to sex...mistakes happen!

Unless dad was also a red tabby, they would be all boys. Mom gives the colors to males (which they would be either red or cream like her). Dad gives color to the girls.

You don't have any calicos, which means that if the father is a black/white, they are all boys. If the father was like the mother (red tabby/white) you can have both males and females.

Brings back memories of my Tinkerbelle's three red boys Boris, Theodore and Leo when they were first born.

We think that the father is black and white so it is quite likely they are all boys. I am pretty convinced that they are all boys. Their genitals all look the same. There are like two bumps under their bums.

I thought I read that all ginger cats were boys? I assumed my ginger and white was a male because they all are. Am I wrong?

Beautiful kittens. They look just like three of the kittens my cat just had.

I really hate disturbing the babies from Mary-Jane. They are always nursing and sleeping. She is such a good mum. She left the nest for a bit to go eat so I slipped in a picture.

Sorry about the poor quality of the photos. One must realize they're in a crawlspace and I don't want to use flash, haha.
