Help Make Animal Cruelty A Felony In Ohio

There is a bill in the Ohio House of Representatives that will make cruelty to companion animals a felony. Right now it is only a misdemeanor, like jaywalking.

Some of the Committee Members are opposed to this bill and they need to hear from all of us. Whether or not you are from Ohio your voice will make a difference. There are 23 Committee Members but you only need to write one letter through the link below:

A mis-demeanor? does that mean it's not even a criminal offence?

Ohio has awful animal protection laws. I live here and things are awful.

A misdemeanor is a minor criminal offense like jaywalking or driving without insurance. Violent crimes like cruelty to animals should not be treated as a minor offense. Torturing and/or killing a companion animal should be punished with a lengthy jail sentence.
