I found Seb sleeping in his litter box this evening. I let him stay there for about 15 minutes then took him out.

This is the first time he's ever done anything like this. Think it could be a power play to keep Daphne out? He hasn't seemed to mind her using his box before now.

Thanks!

He could be trying to assert his control over the box. I hope you can put another one out.

He could also be trying to cool down, has it been warm where you are?

No, our highs lately have been in mid-upper 50sF. Was down to about 40F last night. She has her box in the bathroom and he has his in the closet. She uses both (she wants to do everything he does). So far, I have only seen him use his.

Funny, but it's not all that uncommon. I think part of it are the sides of the box make the cat feel safe and snug. One of mine loves to sleep in laundry baskets for the same reason.
