My does my cat lick me?

My boy friend and I got our 1st ever cat 2 months ago, her name is bubbles and she is five years old!

Since we got her whenever we stroke her she licks our arms.

I've never heard of cats doing this before and a friend of ours told us that it means that she has got funny maternal issues or something.

Does any1 know if he's right? It seems a funny thing for a cat to do but its actually quite cute.

Please Help. . . Is our cat weird or not?

Our cat licks us too and grooms the dogs. Feels like sandpaper

Your cat LOVES your petting!
BUUUUUT.... you should maybe get him or her a friend while they are young. And IIIIIF you get them a friend.... when they "fight" they are only playing.
