Not stop the presses news, I know. I just planted 18 leaf lettuces in pots; some of the leaves fell off, so I used them for lunch! I had left-over coleslaw on top, they were excellent. The lettuce variety is "Red Sails". I also bought baby spinach plants, and will pot them up for my patio. The problem is keeping the felines away--4 of them have a thing for plants, espcially Loki. I can't put them out until later, so they're in the garage, covered with milk crates! (My cats have their litter boxes there.) I have to go to great lengths to keep them out of my herbs--I have to put plants on the mantlepiece, and make sure any climbable furniture is not nearby.

It's BEAUTFIUL weather here this weekend---hubby is finishing the shed, I got to use our new patio furniture, and I've started gardening. I'm a Fall person, but just can't wait for the warm weather, so I can start my first REAL vegetable garden.

That is exciting! Would be for me. I keep intending to grow some veggies each year and all I've done so far is buy potted tomatoes which haven't done well. Good luck with all of it!

Oh, that sounds so good! I dream of having a greenhouse someday where I can grow lettuce and herbs and all kinds of berries...

Look over your back fence and look at mine! Everything is growing well! Well, you might have to get up on your roof to see mine. What I am saying is that I live only a couple or so blocks from you and I planted one day AFTER the last freeze and everything is up and especially the herbs which we used in soup just last night! So...YOU can do the same thing without a greenhouse. But, I would like to have one, too.

Only a couple of blocks? My goodness! That's lovely, but... just how do you know, mister? Have you ever been arrested for... oh, I don't know... STALKING, perhaps?
