I cleaned out a whole chicken earlier to prepare for dinner and got all the yucky inside bits out. I don't know what they were but looked like kidneys and yucky stuff like that.

I was about to throw them and thought I'd see if the cats were interested in them, I figured they're probably pretty good for the kitties.

So I put them in a bowl, and Stumpy looked at tit and turned her nose up and walked off. Then a bit later, I dragged Smudge off the scratching post so she could check it out (I didn't want them to stay out in the warm and go off).

Smudge sniffed them for a second, then started chewing, and has been chewing it all down ever since! There was a few decent sized bits and pieces in there, so she had to give them all a good chew, and I think by the sound of it she just finished - I can hear her cleaning herself!

I have no idea what to get them in the way of wet food now (as an evening snack), as I'm losing faith in all tinned foods, so maybe I'll just buy livers and things like that, and give them those??? Smudge certainly seems to like them

The insides were: neck, heart, gizzard, kidneys and liver.

I usually just freeze them and add them to soup stock when I make soup because it adds extra flavouring. Chicken livers are a delicacy. You can make a very yummy pate out of them once they are cooked.

DH likes fried chicken gizzards and livers.

If you want to feed those to your kitties they have containers of just livers or gizzards at the grocery store. Depending on how large the store is they may or may not have them that often. Both are usually very cheap too.

Well there you go - you know your entrails!!
I threw the neck away (in hindsight I should have given them that as well). I don't know if I could add them to soup stock... and I definitely wouldn't be making pate out of them!!!!

Ewww!!!!!

I might see if our local grocery store or butcher carry them though, they'd probably love chewing on chicken necks particularly.

oh, haha, I thought entrails almost exclusively referred to intestines. Well, you got my mouth watering anyhow, I love beef intestine. Stuffed and steamed, or just fried. It's quite yum, not very different from some sausages (actually aren't some sausages just stuffed intestine?).
