I am so sorry for your loss. She was a beautiful cat. As one who has had dogs in the past and now cats, it seems that even with a good vet illnesses in cats aren't as straight forward and are just a lot harder to diagnose. You did all you could.

Terriandrod~~

I happened to be skimming and saw your post. I am so sorry for your sweet Tiddle.

I have NO doubt our cats knowing when we are trying to care for/help them. Even when it's uncomfy for them or causes anxiety/pain. So don't you worry about that one iota.

I have had you and Tiddle on my mind; one of my boys came down with a 'fever of unknown origins' last week (though I suspect I know what it was). I have been trying not to panic and we are managing him at home (he is doing fine now). But I thought of Tiddle and know that I would do everything that you did for your sweet guy. I am crying typing this. You are a wonderful kitty mom.

There is no loss like pet loss. It's indescribable to me. The loss of unconditional love is....bleh there is no words. You have all of our hugs.

Terri,

I'm so sorry about Tiddles.......my heart is broken for you. I can certainly understand your feeling of guilt.......but please, please remember you had no way of knowing this was coming and were doing everything in your power to help her get better. Everything you did for her was an act of love and friendship, so please take some comfort in knowing that she passed away loved & cherished more than words could describe. I very strongly believe that our kitties know on some level that we are trying to help them, and I believe your Tiddle knew that, as well.

My prayers are with you........take care of yourself and cherish those memories you have of her, she will live forever in your heart through those memories. God Bless....

Angie

She's a true beauty, and she's pain free and among the angels now...I know the guilt you speak of and believe me, we put that on ourselves, our kitties don't feel that way, Tiddle knows you did what you could to save her

You did what you needed to do to make Tiddle well again. Sometimes there is no rhyme or reason to life. You have my prayers. She is in peace now.

I was beside myself with guilt when I lost my Napoleon last October, thinking I could and should have foreseen the circumstances that led to his death. But none of us have hindsight and you were in fact actively helping Tiddle in every way you could. It is the hardest thing possible to deal with, and you will never forget her, but in time you will remember the good things more than the bad. RIP beautiful little one.

You did your best and she knows that. She knows you loved her very much and she was thankful for that.

Thank you so much. As I'm sure you know, persons that have had such a loss themselves can be such a comfort. You have been just that to me. I pray that you little boy stays well.

Thank you for taking the time to send comfort my way...believe me I need it. I haven't quit crying and don't think I will very soon, but all the compassion I've been shown sure helps.

God Bless You,

Terri

Something I keep in mind at times like these....and something I shared with people during loss (due to natural age or not)~~

It's so hard watching our pets suffer. But whether naturally or not, cats and dogs' life spans are shorter than ours for a reason.

For those of us whose hearts just burst with love for these critters, we have all the more time to give that love and a home to another pet. And that is what our furbabies would want

No cat, dog, bird, hamster, fish, etc....could ever replace a lost pet friend. But that is OK; we never want to 'replace' them. We want to give another pet have that same love and security and I am so thankful I have had the opportunity to love so many animals.

Like I said earlier--pet loss is indescribable. They are the most forgiving creatures on earth....their love is unconditional; they are always there for us. You have every reason to grieve; you lost a friend. But you also loved Tiddle, opened your heart and home to such a sweet animal. That is a beautiful thing and if I could clone animal lovers like yourself, I would.
