What is Your Least Favorite Household Chore? - Page 2

The vacuuming because my back gives out after a while. The dishes because a certain member of the househole leaves plates and containers looking disgusting and doesnt even use the correct items to eat/drink out of half the time. I dont mind the laundry, except if its hot weather, then my brain gets roasted when i hang out a whole load of washing.

As I work as a cleaner once a week, I must kind of like it all. But cleaning for someone else is diffrent from your own cleaning.
For my home it has to be defrosting the freezer and cleaning the oven. I can always think of something better to do!

I'm weird (if you've read my posts on this forum, I'm sure you already know that!). I don't mind doing the laundry, or loading the dishwasher, but I balk at putting laundry and dishes away. I'll happily clean 3 toilets at least once a week (the easiest job around here!), but hate changing bed sheets. I don't mind washing litter boxes (9), but hate putting clean dishes away. Go figure. I also hate dealing with cat hair. I have a compulsion to clean it up ASAP when I see it. I hate seeing those "tumbleweeds" on the floor--yuck!!!!! And the discarded claws you find every once in awhile. Nasty.

I actually like cleaning! Like I said, I'm weird. Funny you should start this thread, as the other day, I saw a website for a cleaning service, and they actually clean your stove's drip pans! I thought, "My God! You can PAY someone to do that for you!" This may make me try them out.

I do my dishes exactly once a week because I'm a terribly lazy person when it comes to them. Though, to be honest, as it's only me dirtying the plates and I don't exactly cook, it's not as though there are all that many at the end of the week. But still.... my goal for this month is to get into the habit of doing them twice a week!!

Laundry I never used to mind when I lived with the parents and had a washer and dryer right there... now that I have to drag all my clothes down to the basement and make sure that I get them out right away to not tie up the machines... not so fun. Plus I always want to wash ALL my clothes at once, so it's hard for me to find something decent to wear while I'm doing the laundry.

Other than that, I really don't mind cleaning. I find it satisfying to clean, and I LOVE to sweep and mop floors.
I can certainly understand why you hate laundry day! We used to live in an apartment, and the laundry room was across the parking lot (and a very busy, they-drive-like nuts parking lot). Luckily, we lived on the ground floor; but I had to drag laundry down 3 steps, across the lot, and up 3 steps into the laundry room, which was a creepy, dark, nasty place. I also have a bad back, and am not exactly Mr. Universe; in other words, weak. Then, of course, when you really needed laundry done, the weather would be bad, so you couldn't take the dry stuff back in the rain, etc. This was assuming the $#^ driers were working that month (they always had at least 2 of the 4 on the fritz, for weeks), and that the "Barefoot Contessa" wasn't there (my nickname for a resident who always went barefoot, which grosses me out, and spent entire mornings using every machine, washers AND driers, doing mountains of washing, EVERY SINGLE WEEK--where the heck was it coming from!!!!??)

When we bought the house, I was so happy--for other reasons, but mainly so I could do my laundry in private, and in my own place! We lucked out, and got a small laundry room. In my next house, I plan to have an even larger room. I find spending time in there kind of relaxing (unless the cats are trying to get in the drier, etc.).

Putting clean dishes away! Mind you, I don't mind putting dirty dishes in the dishwasher or starting it, but for some reason, putting clean dishes away just puts me in a bad mood. Maybe because I have to put them in a certain place, and I'm not good at doing that.

The whole dumping litter, and scrubbing of the kitty boxes!

I make DH do it.

All of them.

Dishes have got to be it, I love to cook and would do so a lot more if it didn't include doing dishes. Everything else I really don't mind.

I hate taking the trash out, more than ANYTHING.

Me, too. And I have to every week, because that's where the cat fur congregates (not on the carpet, but in the stair corners, strangely). I hate dragging the heavy vacuum up the stairs; I'm always afraid it/and/or I are going to fall.

All I wanted for Christmas was an extenion wand or hose for it. Did anyone get me one? No! I did, however, get a hobby-horse singing reindeer. What I've ALWAYS wanted...

All of the above....I HATE to clean and I am going to be the WORST housewife there ever was....

#1- I cannot cook to save my life.
#2- I don't mind DOING laundry just folding it and putting it away. It used to take a week to put it all away and fold. I AM getting much better though.
#3- I hate doing dishes. They could pile up and pile up and I could care less. HATE it.
#4- Vaccuming. NUFF said.
#5- Litterboxes I don't have a choice. Oscar is mine so it's my responsibility.
#6- Bathrooms. The real reason I really hate cleaning the bathroom is that SOMEONE doesn't know how to clean up after shaving or cutting his hair or brushing his teeth. I mean seriously....is it really that hard to spit the toothpaste in the SINK?! I didn't think the sink was that small! I guess that's a man thing though.

I think that's it. I am just glad Travis does it or it would be bad. I AM getting better though. I know that it'll have to change so I'm working on it. It's hard to unspoil me when I was spoiled 19 years of my life

The only chores I don't like is the wet stuff: mopping & cleaning bathrooms.

Until four years ago, I ran my own cleaning and ironing service. Doing all the chorse was fine when I was getting paid for it, but these days I hate it all - what a thankless taks, and once it is done there is nothing to do but sit and wait for it to all need doing all over again!!!

My washing machine packed in this morning - good side to this being that I won't have anything to iron for a few days - bad side being that we will all probably run out of clothes pretty soon!!!!!

LOL!!! Oh, now, you KNOW you wanted that singing reindeer!

The question would be what house hold chore DON'T I hate! I honestly think the worst is cleaning the litter boxes. I hate it and my husband refuses to do it unless I'm running a temp of over 103. He did do it in Feb. when I was sick but I honestly think that was the first time.

I've solved some of the dish issue....we use paper plates whenever possible! Of course, I made spagetti last night, and the pan won't fit in the dishwasher so they're still waiting for me. But, we do have 2 dogs so they will lick the plates clean before we put them in the dishwasher (hey, the dishwasher steralizes them!). I know, I think its kind of gross too, but hey, they lick my face so why not my plates.

Basically, I need to hire a maid! I'm just glad DH isn't real picky about our house or I'd be in trouble.
