My university was locked down yesterday because someone reported that they saw a guy with what looked like a gun, so the university immediately called the police and the school began to lock down.

Thankfully, I wasn't at the campus yesterday, but I had a lot of friends there.

The police swept the whole campus, but didn't find anything thankfully.

It's good to know that the university and police were on top of it and took it so seriously!

Yea, my friends on campus were told that they immediately had to leave or get to a room where they could lock the door.

Two of my friends as well as other people locked themselves in a classroom for a couple hours until the police gave the ok to come out.

Yea, I knew it was the anniversary of Columbine yesterday too and it freaked me out because nothing like that has ever happened here and thankfully it stayed that way.

I wonder if people were just overly paranoid from the recent shootings as well as the fact that is was the anniversary of Columbine.

That is sooo scarry! Thank goodness your campus police were on top of things and took immediate action!!! What a blessing it was just a scare and nobody was actually hurt.
I'm glad everyone was safe.

Are you at the U of S? If so, I read about it on the 'Saskatchewans' community on Livejournal. It said, "At approximately 5:00 pm today (April 20, 2007), Campus Safety received a report of 6' tall, dark-haired male, dressed in a light shirt and camouflage pants, walking through campus possibly armed with a gun." and then it said that the Saskatoon police was there, and it had a number to dial if you saw anything suspicious.

I'm glad everything turned out okay!

Wow that's great response! Are they like that all time (meaning the campus' response not if students carry guns)?
