Advice on what to do for a cat?

I *may* be getting a cat very soon, and I need to know the basics. Luckily, most of my friends have owned cats all their lives, but i need some advice.

Look through the forums, in particulat Health & Nutrition and Behavior. If you've never had a cat before, these are good places to start and ask questions.

This site has a TON of info! And don't be afraid to hop on any of the forums to ask questions. No question is stupid and you will get a reply very fast.

Congrats on the possible new addition to you home! Cats are wonderful, but a little hard to understand at times, which makes them fascinating!
