Last night I was outside getting some pots for planting some Swamp milkweed seeds and as I was opening the door Bindi wanted to come out, I said No. Bindi is a indor cat who is harness and leash trained he loves to go for walks outside but I only let him out while hes harnessed and leashed. I have a retractable leash like the kind for small dogs. Well I went to sleep late and slept in as long as I could before I had to get ready for hubs/ collage math program. As I was waking up I heard Bindi calling for me, he useally does this everyday to get fed or to go out. I never let him out without supervision. Well it turns out he somehow got locked in my pants drawer!
He spent a whole day and night in the drawer and I never knew I felt so bad! I was worrying at work and called Gabe my Pca's boss to send people to my house to look for Bindi. Jim and me walked all over calling him and getting people involved and then my dad hears about it and finds out hes been in the drawer all along. Bindi was so glad to be out of there he ate some food and I took him outside as a payback for how he had to suffer. He really enjoyed that, I walked him around and then ate dinner with some neighbors after putting him back in. I feel so bad about this and my lousey sense of intution, I KNEW he was calling for me if I hadn't been so tired, I would have reponded better.

Aww I am so sorry this happened to you! I would have been scared witless, too. Its good that Bindi is out now and back to being spoiled by you
At least he was someplace warm and dry.

Yeah tell me about it, I was worried sick, Glad everythings okay he's sleeping on my bed now..

If you do loose a cat outside what are some ways to can find him/her? I'm pritty sure Bindi would stay close. I was thinking of making him an indoor only cat but after I found out that someone, I or someone else locked him in the drawer I decided against it. He loves the outdoors and is supervised/ flea treated, neutered ect.

If you lose a cat in a big city, chances of 'finding' it are fairly slim, in fact the only way would be if the cat didn't leave the properly (and hid in the bushes or something), or if a neighbor began feeding it (if it was approachable and stayed around to eat), or if someone caught it and turned it in to a shelter - and unless it was a no-kill shelter, it wouldn't last very long at all there. Most cats won't let strangers approach when they're outside, but could panic and run into the road, be attacked by other animals, be so hungry they eat something 'dangerous', or accidentally get locked in somewhere (happened to ours), etc. Keep taking him out on a leash if you like, but don't let him go free!
