My parents were found by a yellow lab a couple of days ago
, and while she is sweet, they are in the middle of building a house and can't keep her. They have checked the newspaper (contacted one possibility, but haven't heard back, and it is a long shot), the local neighborhoods and had her checked for a microchip (no chip, no collar). Does anyone know of a list of Labrador Retriever rescues, or of local Labrador clubs, or somewhere they could contact someone about taking her into foster care? I'm having a hard time finding anything specific. We are looking for something in the Alabama area, specificly, if possible, the central Alabama/Birmingham area. Thanks in advance if you can help!
The Google searches I've been doing and the national site I found just left me chasing my tail!

Thanks for the help! Of course, about 2 or 3 hours ago (it's 9:30pm here now), my dad called and said that the owner showed up at the house under construction, and said that she has apparently learned how to let herself out of the gate (thought first time was a fluke, and she was still in their yard, but twice means a lock on the gate
). The owner even offered my dad a reward, but of course he wouldn't take it
. So, a happy ending!
Thanks again! Y'all are the best!

We have a rescue place here in IA. I work with a lady who is in charge of the branch around Cedar Rapids, IA. I bet if you look online you could find a lot. Labradors have a great reputation and have a lot of rescue clubs because of that.

Thanks for the help, but fortunately, her owners saw the sign my dad put up, and he said that the dog was overjoyed when she saw her owner
, and she is back safe at home (with a new lock on the gate
).
