I woke up this morning with a swollen bloody lip...AND one of my big toenails is cracked right through the middle! Weirdly enough, I feel no pain from it though...

I have no idea how either of these things happened, so the only explanation is that Trout went to town on me while I was sleeping

That little brat.

Nuh uh...might give me away!
Or you've started sleep walking and stubbed your toe, and as you bent down, cursing
, your mouth hit something else...a dresser? cabinet?
lol

Or Trout beat you up.

I've gone to bed and woken up with injuries that I can't explain!

Many years ago back in the 1980's I woke up with the outter part of my left hand and wrist sore and swollen. I went to my friends as planned, but the pain was getting worse, so I went to a walk-in-clinic on my way home. It was a Saturday and they couldn't do an xray, but they felt it wasn't broken. They bandaged it up with an Ace Tensor bandage and sent me on my way. On Monday I was at work and had gone to the ladies room and while I was pulling up my oh so tight control top pantyhose, I heard a "snap" and the pain....omg! I was in tears.

My boss drove me to the emergency room and dropped me off. Eventually I had an xray done and they found out that I had torn some tendons in my hand and wrist. Well...

I started to have a trail of professionals coming in to talk to me...the police, a social worker, victim services etc.

They thought I had been beaten up by my boyfriend or husband. The irony of it is that I lived alone and wasn't even involved with anyone at the time, but they didn't believe me. I told them that I had a waterbed and it was possible that I may have turned over and flung my arm and it landed on the sideboard of the bed. They didn't believe me. So for that injury it was put down as a questionable injury related to spousal abuse. To this day I have no idea how I hurt my hand and wrist.

That sounds like as good an explanation as any!

Y'know, seriously... a sleep study is not a bad idea. Sleep disorders can become dangerous... people have been known to do scary things in their sleep, including going outside, carrying their babies around, cooking, and some people say they've even driven in their sleep! Couldn't hurt to get checked out!

Under the cats, mostly.
I suppose in a wierd twisted way it's better to be injuring yourself in your sleep that anybody else! But I would agree with the sleep study
Then you can catch Trout red-pawed, because they video everything.

Last spring I woke up with two black eyes and a sore upper nose one morning. The kitties must have hit me. It was a bit embarassing, fortunately I wasn't in a relationship at the time, otherwise my SO might have gotten some nasty looks.

Gosh that's crazy! I've woken up missing my shirt a few times (and was completely alone each time...once I was still living at home and I used to lock my door at night and the other DH was deployed!) but nothing like that I don't think. I do occasionally clench my hand into a fist and wake up with blue marks from my nails, which are usually long and naturally hard. Iunnoo bout you Nat!

I had a friend who used to brush her teeth in her sleep every night. I mean every single night! She probably still does! She should have married a dentist!

Spiders and other grubs. If it grosses you out, think of it this way: It's a great source of protein
