Everyones help has been wonderful

Smokey has done well. She delivered 5 babies Monday just gone

One white with a grey flash on his/her (have no idea how to tell what gender they are. Not as easy as puppies) head and 4 grey ones with white and cream splashes here and there.

They are so adorable

All doing well except they seem to pant at times and I am not sure why?

I did put a heat pad in one corner of the nursery box is case they felt cold over night but there is still quite a bit of room for them to move if they are warm enough. They only pant sometimes, mostly eat and sleep

I will need someone to tell me how to send pictures to the board please and they will need to be easy steps for the silly ones like me

Cheers

We need pictures! If the ones are blue (grey) with cream - they are females. If you post the pictures I can help you with the colors and sexes. What color is mom and dad?

Congrads on the babies! They sound ADORABLE! As far as the panting...Im no expert but I put a heating pad under one part of the blanket they sleep on and mine starting panting (breaking fast with their mouth open like a snarl or growl) and I took the pad out and they stopped. Maybe its a tad too warm for them. Remember mom keeps them pretty cozy too! Congrads and cannot wait to see pics!

No I do not but I did start a Google account and have an album for Smokey and her babies there

URL is http://picasaweb.google.com/S.SallyJ/Smokey

I'll keep adding new pics as I get them.

I just adore these little babies

AHA.

I have three heat controls and I did experiment with those.

At night time I turn 2 on and during the day I turn on only one.

The weather here In Victoria, Australia is still warm considering it is Autumn.

Smokey's Album is located here http://picasaweb.google.com/S.SallyJ/Smokey

Thanks bunches for all the congrats

Congratulations to Smokey!

Cant wait to see pics.

The panting - does it happen when you are holding them? If so, it could be they're way of showing they are not happy and want to go back in the nest with mum and the other kittens. They also can hiss as well. If they are panting on a regular basis...I dont know what that is. Maybe someone else will be along to tell you or if you are concerned, call a vet and ask them over the phone if its normal.

They are from my mobile phone. I couldn't get my friend's digital camera to work.

There is one white one with a grey flash on top of his/her head, and four grey ones with matches of white and cream. One is all grey. Mum is grey with white underneath but I do not know who dad is because Smokey was dumped at a factory estate and I rescued her from there.

I will try and get clearer pics to add to Smokey's Album http://picasaweb.google.com/S.SallyJ/Smokey .

No they do it when they are in the nursery box.

When I hold them, they start to cry a little but then they snuggle into my neck and go to sleep. They seem to be like Smokey, like to be around people

I would like them to be use to being handled and cuddled from a young age. I think they will be more loving ??? I am only guessing ??? Smokey is so loving, she purrs so loud that it almost breaks into a snore, LOL. She just hears me talk and she is off like a steam train . . . so cute

I did some experimenting with the heat pad and I am certain they were too hot.

Smokey is so good. I am so surprised how much she has attached herself to me and how she has allowed me close to her babies and to even pick them up. She doesn't want to relocate them any more so that is good

Yes mum and I will keep one. I like the white one with the grey flash on his/her head. Before mum got Mimmi, she has a male cat, neutered, he was really lovely, really a big smooch
So even though we have to female cats (Smokey to be spayed once babies are all grown up and the vet says it is OK and Mimmi is already spayed), a male cat would be OK. He will be neutered along with the other four. I want to do that before they go to their new homes. But the trouble is I really love the colour grey (perhaps having Weimaraners has made me colour blind, LOL), so I don't know which one we will keep.

I had a much closer look at the four grey ones and all have some cream on them.

I will add more pics as I get them and will try and take clearer close ups.

Cheers
