Aww thanks! I hope he gets better soon! I'm praying he heals up on his own and surgery won't be necessary. i cleaned him off really good and put a warm compress on him a few minutes ago when i fed him to help the swelling. before i put him to sleep for the night at their next feeding, i will put some cortizone and ky jelly on him to see if it helps like the vet said to do. / I have had to seperate Linus from Lily and Cali because it is too dangerous to take chances by keeping them together anymore trauma to the area according to the vet could have serious reprocussions. Also, with their health problems- i can not over feed them as it could cause issues. (The came to me severly malnourished- so their tummies are huge- kind of like something you would see on a child from an impoverished country who has been starved- they're soo underfed their bellies bloat.) so i keep a very strict feeding schedule- i record each and every ml they eat and log it and feed them at set times usually to try and get them back to a normal weight/size.Originally Posted by ChrissyR
I'm so glad little Linus didn't have to get surgery. I hope his little parts start feeling better soon and the swelling goes down. My boys did that to each other when they were little. I had a heck of a time keeping them off each others parts. Mike had some *sick* fun with the jokes he came up with when I would catch the boys...uhm...uhh...nursing privates. LOL I, sadly, would overfeed by a little bit and the nursing stopped for both of them. Good luck and my fingers are crossed that Linus' parts will be fine very soon!!

Make sure you tell this story to Linus' & Lily's adoptive families!
omg thankyou for mentioning that sarah!!! i've been soo busy i haven't even thought about that one. i will have to keep a close eye on lily- i might just have to seperate all 3 of them.Originally Posted by sarahp

Keep an eye on Cali though, the litter of fosters I had, had a mother, but when they went back to the shelter to be spayed, they kept trying to suckle on mum who was getting annoyed, so we let mum have plenty of time in the play area on her own without them. When the kids were separated, we kept noticing one of them was constantly suckling on the nipples on one of the other kittens and it was getting all red and raw. So we had to separate the kittens as well.
So Lily may start trying to suckle on Cali's tiny nipples since she can't have Linus. Keep an eye on them
thanks sarah! i will watch and seeOriginally Posted by sarahp
See how it goes, then if Cali is getting red nipples, but Lily isn't, then you can probably assume Lily is the only suckler, and let Cali and Linus hang out.
Good luck
