Tab isn't eating...

Tab's not eating very much food these days, and we took her to the vets but they said she had no problems with the glands and muscles in her throat, and said she might have scratched her throat on something. This was about a week ago, and Tab has started to eat more, but not that much more. She threw up the other day, and her nose was runny, too. I just wondered if anybody had any idea what might be wrong with her, because I'm worried about her.

Could she be under any stress because my next door neighbours' have had some building work done and they have been making quite a racket and making her very scared

If her nose is runny, she may have a URI (basically like a cold).

Stress can be a factor...but she does need to eat. Maybe some plain boiled chicken would be tempting for her?

Not sure about the vomiting, though.

Have you offered her any wet (canned/tinned) food? My cats won't eat dry food when their throat hurts.

I think I would call the vet back and tell them what you told us...see what he/she advises.

we feed her wet food each day, with a few crunchies on top (like Go Cat and things like that)

Please let us know what the vet says. It is good that she is eating though

me and my mom are going to take her to the vets tomorrow bcuz she's still not eating as much as she should be and she's still skinny so I'll post tomorrow and let you guys know how it went

well we took her to the vets and they still had no idea what's wrong with her so they took a blood sample (she's been shaved! awwr!) and they're gonna get back to us tomorrow morning, then they will decide whether she needs a throat x-ray or not.

I don't know whether anyone's actually reading this anymore but either way I'm gonna keep updating and telling you how Tab is doing...

the vets rang my mom up and said that she may need to take more blood, and then they willknow more information. Then after that she'll probably have to have a throat x-ray

Please let us know how she's doing. I hope the test results reveal a diagnosis that's easy to treat.
