At the end of the day if people feel uncomfortable visiting a place due to past protest then fair enough. You want people to feel comfortable enough to have a good time on a cruise you are arranging and I'm sure Rosie wants to sell her tickets
It's Bermuda that I feel sorry for as they have lost out on some tasty tourism money and this might have a long-term effect. Shame it always seems to be a small minority ruining it for others

I wouldn't want to go to a place that protested against me while on vacation...nope, I sure wouldn't. 100 is a pretty small group though.

I would say that if the people were truly offended, they would have boycotted on their own. They don't need that bag of wind who's making money off them giving them ideas.

I agree with you Bruce, I dislike Rosie because she's an annoying blowhard not because she's gay or has really liberal views.

I feel bad for the families though, I'm sure that they were looking forward to spending time in Bermuda.

Typically I would make a smart comment by saying "Anywhere Rosie doesn't go I'll go..."

But for support to the LGB really if it makes you uncomfortable I wouldn't want to go there.

If Rosie starts avoiding places with anti-gay protestors, she'll end up holing up at home. This is just another one of her publicity ploys.

A cruise vacation should be fun and relaxing. Watching a group protest your lifestyle wouldn't be either. I'm with Rosie on this one and I'm not a Rosie fan.

I wouldn't want to bring children where there's going to be protesters. It would make for a lousy vacation. Better to go somewhere they are welcome and appreciated.

this is stupid. first off- if homosexual people want to be treated as equals to straight people they need to stop trying to set themselves apart and trying to get special treatment. you don't see a cruise line hosting a "straight cruise" or a city hosting a "straigh parade" for people now do you? then why should special exceptions be made for people simply because they choose to praticipate in homosexual relations vs. heterosexual ones??? what you do in the bedroom needs to stay in the bedroom- not drug out into every single aspect of life i don't expect special treatement from people because i'm heterosexual...

maybe it's to protect the children or young adults, seeing protesting saying they hate your family and dont want them there could really be harmful and hurtful to a child who really doesnt understand whats going on.

I'm not sure how it's special treatment to take a cruise with people of a similar ilk, but you know people do it all the time. There are cruises for goths, cruises for church people, cruises for hedonists, cruises for singles, cruises for families, cruises for members of organizations.. like the Masons. It's not "special treatment". It's just a choice to go on a cruise more tailored to your lifestyle and wants. An athiest probably would have no interest going on a cruise tailored to church folk and vice versa.
Is it really wrong for gay/lesbian couples and their children to want to take a cruise tailored to their interests and lifestyle? Or a place where their children won't have to deal with rude comments about their parents?
Your sexuality is not just "what you do in the bedroom". It also determines who you have relationships with and who your friends are. Who you fall in love with and how your raise your family. Also, not all homosexuals are the same or have the same interests. That's why these cruises are tailored to families.
BTW, there are also cruises for straight people. They call them "dating" cruises. I know they don't put straight in the name, but we all know that's what they mean, don't we?
I stand by what I said earlier though. I wouldn't want to bring a family around people being ignorant and cruel. As an adult, I can handle it but children shouldn't have to. It's pretty sad that these church groups feel the need to expose children to such mean things.

It's really sad that people are so closed minded and down right rude. People should be able to go on vacation and not worry about getting hasseled. The company should have kept Bermuda on trip, people jsut have to learn to let other be. I don't care if you don't like someone, just ignore them!

It's not special treatment. There are plenty of cruises directed at specific demographic groups. There are couples, seniors, under 30, etc.

Plus, when we talk about equality, how is it equal to have protesters show up just because the families had gay parents? You never see protesters show up because a bunch straight people want to come and support the local economy.
