8-Bit is fine.

I was curled up on the couch just about to enjoy some Oprah and I see 8-Bit round the corner, limping. I rush over to see if something is stuck in his paw and all I can see is a red swollen pad. I throw him in the carrier and we are off. He decides to yell at me the whole way there letting everyone around us know that he is being abducted from his nice cushy apartment and that his paw really hurts.

We don't get our regular vet. The new one walks in and says, "Oh, hi angel!" At that moment 8-Bit launches himself off the exam table lands in the sink and growls.

She takes him back for some X-Rays. He lets the ENTIRE building know that he wants his Meowmy. There isn't a foreign object in his paw, so she sends me home with some anti-biotics and gives him an anti-inflammatory shot.

We come home, and I call for an elevator. Just as I press the button a small crowd of people behind me are staring at the hissing, growling box that I am carrying. An loud sigh is let out among them as I press the 12th floor. They are in for a long ride with a kitty who wants to let everyone know he's not pleased with his current circumstances.

He is now curled around my head purring loudly.

All is well.

Oh 8-Bit, never a dull moment, is it?!

I see he loves the vet just as much as Harley does! Except Harley won't let the vet TOUCH him!!

Glad it was nothing serious!

Oh 8-Bit!

I hope your paw feels better soon!

Don't you know your Meowmy is only trying to help you?

I sense revenge in the near future!

As do I...

He gets his first dose in a few hours, so I'm sure it will be after that.

I'm relieved it was nothing serious with 8-Bit. Gotta admit, though, his antics and reaction to things, as well as your descriptions, always make me smile.

But I don't just smile, I laugh out loud, literally.

I wonder if Bit was jealous because Dr. Claw got extra attention over his vet trip earlier today, and therefore decided to do something to his own paw just so he could - on purpose - tell the whole world how mean you are. And then he gets what he wants in the end. Your extra attention.

He's such a drama queen.
I just love hearing about that boy.

Seriously, though, I am really glad that it doesn't appear to be anything serious, and I'll send some "footsies feel better fast" vibes out to the poor boy.

Thank God it wasn't something stuck in his paw.

Yesterday he kept coming in the computer room and lifting up his paw for DH. Because 8-Bit knows how to "shake" Michael just thought he wanted to play.

*Scratches for 8-Bit*

I'm glad his paw will be fine.

I agree that his antics and your description of them always make me laugh...literally, out loud!

Your guess is as good as mine! I have no idea. The whole paw is red and puffy.

Poor 8-Bit! Such an awful mean meowmy to haul him to the vet when he's hurt!

Aww. Poor Bit..

I'm also going to say Poor Heather... I have a feeling those antibiotics are going to end up somewhere you don't want them to be....after he is given them

Let's just hope he keeps them down. I've devised this method: Squirt, treat, cuddle, kiss, squirt, treat, cuddle, kiss.

It seems to be working so far.

Awww poor little baby! I hate that his little paw was hurting him!Glad all went ok at the vet! Hehe you prepare yourself for later Heather- i have a feeling he will try to seek revenge on you for taking him to the vet
What antibiotics did they put him on? Clavamox? Amoxicillin? (if they put him on amoxi- kitties hate the taste and tend to spit it everywhere if you don't get it in them fast. there is a pill version of clavamox you could try if he has problems with the liquid- you can crush the clavamox tab. with a pill crusher and blend it in with some really smelly fish (think tuna or salmon) and they won't taste it. Amoxicillin is another story though
i tried mixing it into some food with the shelter kitties once that were getting meds for an upper respiratory- hehe they didn't like that at all. Better to just go for it with a dropper) Good luck with him!
