Well update on dinner- it turned out good and i didn't burn anything so i consider that a success
I LOVED the rigatoni and all but i don't think i will do the arugula salad again- i did not like that type of lettice- so next time i'll use baby spinach or romaine instead
The fried gorgonzala did turn out good though
If anyone wants the recipe let me know

We're having meat loaf cake carcass - basically scraps from this recipe (you need to check it out). Our "manly" friend's birthday is tomorrow and always wanted a meat cake. So he is getting one, and we feed on the scraps from what we trim off the cake tonight.

Oh, and we're only going 2 layers. We're thinking bacon bits for the decorative topping.

So what's everyone having for dinner tonight?? I'm thinking of seasoning up some chicken, throwing that in the oven for a bit and making some corn and garlic/parmesean potato wedges to go with it

"Making Dinner" is in my job description!

Tonight, we are having turkey cutlets with cranberry sauce, fresh corn on the cob (out of season here, I know, but they look so good), and fresh broccoli.

Tomorrow, we are having a beef roast covered with fresh garlic and black pepper, gravy, mashed potatoes, and romaine salad, and for dessert, homemade vanilla pudding with fresh blackberries.

Anybody want some? You bring the wine!

Sorry, just getting back to this thread. We gave what we affectionately called "The Beefcake" to the birthday boy tonight for dinner. We all met at a bar after work and the waitress brought it out with candles. Jamie (the birthday boy) hates regular cakes but realized immediately that it was covered with mashed potatoes and bacon bits. The entire bar sang to him and we all had a piece of cake (they warmed it in the microwave for us). It was quite yummy if you ask me!!

My bet is that a lot of people that saw the cake tonight is going to make one of them sometime in the future. If you can make a meatloaf and mashed potatoes, you can make this cake.

Mmmm, what did you get? I've felt guilty about getting fast food lately so I haven't been there in a few months.
