Yes, I've quit, cold turkey.
Got myself down to two packs a week, now to beat the cravings.

Wish me luck.

Good for you - you CAN do it!!!

I quit 3 1/2 years ago, and I have never regretted it - and I will NEVER go back!

Just take it an hour at a time, a day at a time, and you can make it through!!!

Way to go!

I know how hard it is, but it does get easier in time. I quit for 5 months last year, then unfortunately started again in December when Alley died. I'm determined to give it another try again soon, and I'm thinking about quitting for my birthday in May.

Just remember, even if you slip up and have one, it doesn't mean you've failed. Just keep trying and take one day at a time. Definitely find something, anything, to keep busy.

Good luck!

How great for you. My husband and I quit 2 years ago and are so happy we did. A quick tip: whenever you get a craving, drink icewater. I don't know why it works, but it does Good luck!

Good luck.

I've been cigarette/alcohol/drug free for just over 3 years (April 1 was the date). Quit cold turkey and never looked back. I'd quit before and been unsuccessful but one day I was just sick of it and quit everything. Took 6 months to feel like a non-smoker instead of a smoker depriving myself of cigarettes. I never thought I'd make a year. I almost caved about 4 months in, but never even took a puff. If you do go back, do not feel bad about it. I tried 3 or 4 serious attempts over the course of 2 years before I could quit. It's one hell of an addiction but it feels so good to know that you are bigger than all the tobacco corporations in the world.
