I walked out of the house this morning to find my dog snifing at this ooooold milk container that we have. It's roughly three and a half feet tall with a diameter of 15 inches. I looked inside, and...

Oh. My. Gosh. There was Twix inside of it, nursing five adorable kittens!! SQUEE!!!

Two are tabbies, one is pure black, and two are mostly black with stripes on their forehead. I think. (I couldn't see them all at the same time.
)

All of them look healthy.... they're nursing and mewing and moving around on their own. I'm guessing they were born last night. I promise promise promise I'll put up pictures soon (no flash, of course!) They're too cute not to.

More updates will come later!

O.k., I have to ask why is it important not to use a flash?

Thanks...

Alright, I've got a few pictures of Fat Lady (Twix's pregnant nickname) and Now Skinnied.

GrayFluffy: I've read that camera flashes can hurt/damage young kittens eyes. Being the cautious (
) person I am, I'm not taking any chances. Am I right, experienced cat lovers?

Cuteness alert ahead!

The Kitten Clan pictures are low quality... I'll try to get some better ones up tomorrow.

I hadn't heard about a flash hurting their eyes. I've always taken pics of my cats/kittens from when I was little with a flash, although now that I've learned more about photography I don't use a flash as much as I used to. I've taken pics of kittens with a flash and have not seen any results of damage to their eyes. I would like more information on this topic, if anyone has any resources for me.

Thanks...

congratulations on your new arrivals

kittens eyes are very sensitive & still forming, so flash photography can cause damage - if you have good daylight you should be able to get some nice photos

Keep us posted on the progress and give that moma some special chin rubs from us

I checked on her and babies this morning and everything was good. Babies were eating, Twix was purring, etc. ... extra scritches were given, mooficat!

GrayFluffy: I don't remember where I read it, but it ws on here. Go check out the kitten threads and you'll see there's quite a few people who don't use their flash around young kittens.

Today I picked up thekittens to "check" them. There's two girls, four boys. The black one (a boy) has an oval white spot on his belly... it's so cute! *squees*'

Anyway, here's picture and a video clip. (An extremely adorable kitten fight! *squees again*)

Blurry picture of the Kitten Clan

Three faces! *giggles*

And the video link: coming soon. It's taking forEVER to upload.

EDIT:: I put three girls, two boys. No idea why I did. Maybe I was tired?
Anyway, there's two girls, four boys, and beautiful babies they are.
