I need to look for a job that pays more MORE money(bills). Is it just me or is that a dissapearing thing in this country?
I want to keep my part time vet assistan job becouse I like and like the pets and company. But I also need something solid stable and better paying.
It seems like it used to be easy to get your foot in the door w/an agency but nowdays all the good jobs seem to be gone.

Just finished reading the book "poor dad, rich dad" my brother gave it to me. I don't know. kinda depressing overall really.

Things seemed a lot more fun and possible in the 80's. Do I sound like an old fart already?

Don't look for jobs in Michigan...there aren't any.

The govenor is trying to keep people in Michigan by upping education and such, but taxes are going to be raised, no one is selling houses, etc. It's a sad sad economy here.

I'm planning on escap--err...moving by the beginning of next year after finishing my degree. The opportunities seem to be higher in other states than they are here.

Yeah its the same in MN too- I have my A.S. in Business Management & Administration and after I got laid off from my last job, it took me SEVEN months to find a job. It sucks. BAD. Unless you wanna work for $5.15 an hour with little to no benefits, then your in trouble
It just sucks- with or without a college degree.

Don't say that Kenz!

I'm getting the same degree as Kenz from the same school. Right now, I work for my parents. I want a real job that will offer real experience. But, that ain't gonna happen. I'll end up working in someplace like ShopKo, K-mart, or Hy-Vee.

Around home Natalie, your best bet is to try to get into a car dearlership. Thats really a good place to start to use your degree and you get really go anywhere after you get a few good years in. Maybe starting in reception or something like that. Plus you'll make decent money with benefits.

Luna's mom, where are you planning on going?
I really think they should repeal Nafta/cafta and put some tarrifs on imports. It's amazing. If we export our stuff to other countries we pay tariffs. Our countries. Especially China, who points missels at us, treat it's workers like crap and is not even remotely democratic and they pay no tarrifs.

Something is seriously wrong w/that picture.

There was an article the other day in the newspaper about high demand jobs-the number one was mechanic's!! Also teachers, accountants were in high demand too.

Most of those are if you're willing to move you can get a job.

For example teaching depends on the subject. If you're an English teacher in Michigan w/o a job, then yes, you'll have to move. However if you teach the sciences (Bio, Chem and Physics) you'll have a couple of districts knocking on your door.

I am very blessed in a bad job market that I was able to find a decent job that I could support us if need be. I make $9.50 an hour, $11.00 after 7:00 pm, plus benefits, 401k, and I am about to start getting commission. I am starting classes tomorrow for sales. It is all inbound calls, so basically all I have to do is answer the phone, take orders on stuff that they already want, and get people to add extra services and channels. If you are looking for jobs, don't rule out call centers. They are kinda boring, but they are low stress, pay decently, and many have room for advancement. If there is a PRC call center in your area, I highly recommend it.
