I haven't been going to the movies as much lately as I like to, so I have to go back a few months for a serious film I really liked: The Prestige is just excellent. And for pure silly fun, I loved Music & Lyrics!

I go with Pan's Labryinth. Also Other People's Lives which beat out Pan's Labryinth for best foreign language picture.

I just came to a sad realization that I haven't seen any good movies this year

I just saw The Pursuit of Happyness and I wasn't that impressed. I thought it would be better.

I want to see Step Up it looks good! I love dancing movies!

I don't know if it's this year or not but I loved Take The Lead.

I saw 300 on IMAX, and it rocked! I will mention, though, that it's not meant to be historically accurate. It's based on a graphic novel and liberties were taken with the history in order to make the story more compelling.

The Prestige was also very good; I spent the entire movie figuring out the ending. (I'm bad for that.) I'm going to go see Grindhouse this Sunday, so I'll have to weigh in on that one later (but I've heard good things).

So it's not just me, then -- there really are fewer movies worth seeing out there lately?

(By the way... I was so completely disappointed with Premonition. I want those two hours back!)

Comedy - RV (Hearing Robin Williams say "giant rolling turd" throughout the movie made me laugh.)

Dark Comedy - Thank You for Smoking

Fantasy - Eragon

Drama - The Illusionist and Crank

Purely Stupid Indulgence - Nacho Libre (but I have a huge crush on Jack Black)

Must be a Canadian thing! Of all that I listed, my absolute fav is Thank You for Smoking (that was a briliantly dark comedy with fabulous acting). But, there's something that makes me laugh every time I hear "giant rolling turd".

I just got back from Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Moviefilm for Theatres and it was AWESOME! Simply awesome. Minus the scene where the cats get blown up
But other than that. (They're cartoons)

300, Thank You For Smoking, Friends With Money... I hate time limits on this.

Anyway, I *think* I might see Disturbia but I don't want to tonight.

I'm going to go see Disturbia and Shooter tomorrow night at the double feature at the local drive in theatre. I am sooo excited!

I think the movie 300 is the best that I've seen so far this year. I went and saw "The Reaping" tonight with my boyfriend. Despite it's bad reviews, it was a very good movie.
