I've bought toys with catnip, and tried a box of catgrass. Twinkle is not impressed.
Hey, maybe i should take a box of catgrass and plant it in a regular plant pot!

How old is your kitty? They usually aren't interested till they are @ 6 months. And then some cats just aren't affected by it...mine love it but my kitten has no clue yet!

Ours don't really like the dried stuff, but love our catnip plant. We have to keep it in a pot so we can regulate the amount they get - Overwise they just roll and kill it in minutes.

Cable's not big on catnip, but she does like honeysuckle. you might try that. you can get honeysuckle toys at Plain Brown Tabby.

I have a kitty who hates catnip. She does like cat mint though.

We often get fresh cat grass and catnip plants as well as catnip toys, and Smudge and Stumpy go nuts over it, while Lily sits there watching it wondering what all the fuss is about.

I put a bit of a catnip plant in front of Lily once, she sniffed it, and spent the next few minutes bashing it with her paw! Here's a pic of it

How old is your cat? Persi had no interest at all in catnip until about eight months old.

She should be a year old in the next month or so. Maybe I'll try again in the summer.

Some cats just don't like it. We got Stumpy at 7 months old and she loved it. We introduced it to Smudge when she was about 5/6 months old and she loved it. Lily's over a year old and still doesn't like it and still bats at it with her paw

Far far away!
If I give Wesley a catnip toy he just looks at it like "yeah, and what am I supposed to do with that?"
He's very picky about what he plays with!!!

One of my cats love catnip and the other couldn't care less about it. However, anything that smells like mint just about drives Linus crazy. Also I have sage and rosemary growing in a indoor herb garden and both of my cats like to rub up against both of those.

Gizmo likes catnip a little bit. He doesn't really go wild for it like some cats but if I spread some on the floor he'll react to it some. I saw him roll in it once but he mostly likes to eat it.

Under the cats, mostly.
I've read somewhere that there's a difference in preferences according to their sex - personally I think it's a load of rubbish - but i do know that some cats really don't care for it at all. There is something you can try though - herbal sleeping pills contain valerian root, which affects cats in a similar way. They LOVE it. It smells good and they roll around on it like it was nip. It acts as a kind of very mild sedative, and we use it at Christmas and New Year because it calms their nerves and then any fireworks that go off nearby don't upset them. It's also the only pill we don't have to fight them to get into them! A half pill each and it's all good

*You just have to make sure that the pills are purely herbal though.

Kitty`s not that impressed with it but Maisie loves her mouse that you fill up with dry cat-nip. She washes it and cuddles it!

That`s a good idea to put cat grass in normal plant pot! I just bought some and sowed it in the tub they provide but it`s too light and will just get pulled about.
