Hmph! I am far too erudite a person ever to put stock in a primitive superstition!However...
I have been known to just coincidentally
plan a nice quiet day at home on Friday the 13th, until "The DaVinci Code" came along. You may remember that the story behind the superstition was explained in that book: a pope decided that the Knights Templar had become too powerful, and he sent messengers all over Europe with orders for his minions to rise up and slaughter the Templars all on the same day, which of course became an infamous date: Friday, October 13th, in the year 1307.
Somehow, knowing it has such a straightforward origin makes it easier for me to ignore it... which I do... mostly. When you believe in things
That you don't understand,
Then you suffer;
Superstition ain't the way.
