As long as you don't have any abnormal pain with it, just keep an eye on it. Write it all on a calender. Take it with yo u when you see a gynecologist. It will be much easier for them to see what is going on. Talk to your mom or who ever you feel comfortable talking with about these things. Tell them you need a gynecologist and would like to discuss differant options. Also tell them about the break through bleeding, thats what your doctor will call it to.

Good luck and PM me if you need to. I just delt with all of this, its not fun but I am willing to help you out if you want.
Doctors can also give gyno exams, I know this because my regular doctor use to give me mine and perscribe my birth control! Of course this being said no bc pill should be prescribed without a pap exam first (they have small utensils for non-active patients)! I now see an OB/GYN by personal preference!

I actually don't even know a person who has a gyno specialist here (but there are some), because to get into one here, you must have a referal from your family doctor and it's like pulling teeth to get one because our family doctors are trained to do pap smears and such to prescribe Birth Control and if she lives in a really small town, they wouldn't have a gyno, just a family doctor. She may have to drive many hours to get to one IF she could get a referal.

Moz, maybe you should go in and talk to your doc and then get checked out and if it's something, then talk about a referal to a gyno...that is one way you could try.

I have never had that happen and I have been on Marvelon for like 10 years. It shouldn't come back

I wouldn't be too concerned unless there are other weird things going on with your body. Sometimes people just have spotty cycles.

Sorry I never heard of such a thing! Im in Wisconsin (nothing extravagent) and as long as we have insurance and the OB/GYN has room for more patients we are excepted! I wasn't aware that seeing a gyno was such a task! A Family physician can do just the same! What do you do in a small town if you are pregnant, usually here you see an OB/GYN? Here we do not need referals, not even for specialists if we are insured!

lol, you just go see your family doctor. They do everything around here lol... you can try and find specialists, but in our province there aren't very many.

Oh you're in Canada... I was unaware of how things work there! In the states it's a little different! You still have to pay but at least that is a right you have! I haven't really noticed a difference in procedure between my former physician and my OB/GYN! I just like my OB/GYN better. She cares and even tested my cholesterol levels and gave me a tetnus shot (who would have thought) because I was over due! She is highly qualified and an exceptional doctor! There is nothing wrong seeing a regular physician!

Yah, well there are pro's and con's to each system I think. I've only had one bad experience and I've always been able to get a referal to a specialist when truly needed ie, my son had to get surgery on his ears and it only took a month to get the surgery, which I think is pretty good. I don't know, I'd much rather have to wait for a little than have to pay for it lol.

Here you have to meet a set deductable each year which depends on your insurance plan and pay a co-pay with each doctor visit. Mine is 30 bucks a visit which isnt very good!

YIKES!!! I wonder how families with no insurance get by? That's crazy and it's definately one thing I'm thankful for here is that every person has the right to recieve healthcare, rich or poor, job or no job.

p.s. Sorry Moz, for the hijack.

I'm in Moose Jaw.. so we most likely do have one here. The referral thing is a pain in the butt, I needed one to get an ECG and it took forever for it to get one.

Just a thought, but figure I would through this in to the thread as well:

How stressed is your life right now? I know when I am really stressed, my periods will last 2+ weeks. I've been on birth control since 2001. The first period will run its normal course, die out to almost a drop per day, then when it should normally start, that's when it comes back.

Yes, I hate it too...not fun to have PMS and period for 2 weeks. I envy those that their period becomes delayed due to stress...I'd rather worry if I was PG rather than deal with the "fun" for 2 weeks or so.

I guess it's stressed as I'm trying to get all this schoolwork done before the Easter break is over.
