Ok so about 8 months back I signed up for Classmates.com and was asked by a few of my former classmates to head up the 10 yr reunion. I sent email after email about it and no one responded. So about a month ago someone I don't remember from the school year emailed wanting info. I told her no one responded so I havent planned anything and once people take an interest, I would start planning.
Well I got an email 4 days ago from her stating that she planned the reunion all on her own and decided we're all going to meet at a Bar here in town and it's going to be abour $70/per person with an additional $22 for the bar..

So I suggested that it was a bit expensive and that people had already been complaining they coudn't afford it and suggested a pot-luck or something like that.
She flew off the handle! (Let me remind you this is the same person who BEGGED me to become the official reunion contact because no one remembered HER
) She writes:

Many people including myself, honestly don't remember you from school. Also I can't find you listed anywhere in the yearbook or on the student sheet I got from Dixie.
So I wrote her back telling her that it was a different story 8 months ago when she "remembered how popular I was and no one would remember her"

I told her to go ahead with her plans and that I was resigning my position and that if all this was going to be nothing but "Immature high school drama" then I probably wouldn't be coming. And that I shouldn't come anyways because I graduated a year earlier then the rest of the class through OJT. I was just trying to be nice and see the classmates that I would have walked with had I not graduated early.....

I am SOOOOOOOOOOO glad I did too!

We never had a 5 yr reunion as the class president still lives in the same town and he sees everyone. We did have a 10th & a 20th but none since.

That's rediculous. I don't really consider that behavior "highschool" anymore since being in university, because it seems to coninute into adulthood and in the work place anyways.

I graduated a year late with 250 some people I don't really know or care to know for that matter. I would not attend that reunion..but if I could go to the 2004 grad reunion, I would go because I have many many friends in that year.

Boy, is that the truth! One of the reasons why I'm still so reluctant to go back into a "real job" is the gossip, the pettiness, the competitiveness, and the manipulative ways of the people I last worked with.

And if you stay out of all that and hold yourself to a higher standard, you just become their favorite target.

~ sigh ~

I believe most of the 15-year-olds I knew in school had more character!

I think you guys are right. It doesn't stop when high school's over. It's ridiculous.. I told them that I wouldn't be attending because honestly, If I wanted to see them in the last 10 yrs, I would have looked them up before now. So obviously, I don't care to see them.

Our "high school" reunion was 1 year after I graduated from high school and it encompassed graduates for the previous 25 years!

Like I really wanted to go and have a reunion 1 year after I left there, and hang around with people who graduated in various years for the prior 25 years! LOL

I've been out of high school since 1980 and we haven't had a class of 1980 reunion at least that I've heard of anyway.

What a dip. Sounds like some people I know.

I don't think I'd even consider going. I'm still close with my close HS friends and we can get together without the drama queens and kings.
