The question on using an unknown "bobtail" came up in another thread. If the cat does NOT come close to the standard, then it should not be used in the breeding program. If the owner who is considering this is the one with "Ace", IMO he's not close enough to the standard to be using him. I would urge the owner to contact other bobtail breeders and have them evaluate this cat. Otherwise you are not improving the breed and should have him neutered.
The bobtail's tail should be several inches long according to the standard. Ace looks more like a manx type then a true bobtail.
