So I am going to put some tape on the counters to train our cats to stay off. I think I am going to apply the tape to some strips of cardboard and then either clamp or tape those strips down to the table & counter, so we can remove them if we need to work and put them back as soon as we are done.

What kind of tape would you recommend? I was thinking about just stapling some duct tape, sticky side up. Will that be too sticky? What about packing tape?

Thanks

I would think duct tape or packaging tape would be too sticky. If you can find the double sided tape, that's sticky on both sides,it may be a lot simpler....I thinks it's sticky like regular tape..

Yeah I don't want to use the double sided tape because I want to remove it while we are cooking and then put it back when we are done. Right now I have taped some tin foil to the countertop; I guess I'll know if it works soon enough.

Um, you can put the strips of double sided sticky tape on the cardboard, and then you won't have to staple it to the cardboard... and I'd just use some regular ol scotch tape to tape it to the countertop, or go to the Dollar store and get a couple of small screw clamps to clamp the cardboard to the countertop in a couple of places, and just unscrew them when it needs to come off
. Good idea about the cardboard...
