Hello, I have two cats that I got from a shelter when they were kittens. They are now over two years old. I wanted to get clumping cat litter, but thought since they were kittens I would hold off. I would now like to try it. I have seen good and bad reports on it. Since they are older now, would it be safe to use it?
Thanks for your replys,
MM

um,i am not sure i am understanding the question- why would a kitten not be able to use clumping cat litter?

in any case i cant' think of any reason not to switch....

the clumping cat litter is usually more like sand and i think most cats prefer it

good luck

I heard if cats eat the clump litter it could build up inside of them and cause problems. I guess alot of people havent heard this before. It seems like the majority use it. Just wondering what everyone thought.

My cat is 2 yrs old & has used the clumping litter since I got her at 5 wks of age. Never had any problems with it.

Good Luck

The only problem I can think of is now they are used to 1 type of litter they may not deal well with the change. If you do change litter phase it in. Add alittle at a time to the old litter, until you only have the new kind left.

I also use clumping litter, but, I have those Litter Maid boxes. For the kittens I use Felinepine. They are too litle to use the Litter Maid and clumping litter just coats their little feet in a regular litter box!
My hubby is an
for getting the Litter Maids for me! With my bad back it means I only have to empty a couple times a day (morning and night) instead of four timea a day! I have 7 adult cats and 3 kittens, so I need all the help in the litter box department I can get!
