Just had to share my 2 cute kitty stories for the day

I was having a weird dream this morning that involved weird noises happening, and I woke up and realised Stumpy was asleep at my feet snoring her head off! She was snoring so loudly I ended up rubbing her belly to gently wake her up so I could get back to sleep

She never used to sleep on our bed, and over the last couple of weeks she's been a lot more affectionate. She barely leaves our side when we're at home, always hangs out in the room we're in. she's been sleeping on our bed every night as well which is strange for her, but oh so sweet

And Smudgey - she's so funny! Her favourite game is when we throw her little toy spring into a laundry basket. She'll roll around with that for hours in the basket until she eventually passes out and falls asleep in the basket.

So today she was playing, and both baskets were out since we'd just done the washing. She managed to jump up on the edge of one basket and knock it over, and of course ruin her game. So she just picked the spring up in her mouth, jumped into the other basket, dropped the spring in that one, and kept right on playing!!!! I was sooooo impressed with her problem solving skills!

Such a clever girl!

When need be, cats are very quick problem solvers. When need not be, the opposite is true.

For example, it's easier to meow for a door to be opened, than to open it oneself. But if a human isn't around to complain to, the door is easily opened with a paw.

Well, at first when she was playing with the laundry basket, she jumped out with the spring in her mouth, and was playing near the basket, so I threw the spring back in the basket, and she kept running around the basket trying to figure out how she could squeeze THROUGH the very narrow gaps to get in the basket. She could SEE the spring but couldn't figure out how to get in.
Eventually she sat up in frustration, and realised she could see IN the basket, and that might be a good way to get in...

And this morning when we left, she'd taken her spring and put it back in the basket so she could play with it in there again. She'll have a fun day today!
