So I ran out of canned food last night so hit the grocery store this morning to restock. I'm buying Friskies cause its not on the list. The store had raised their price by 8 cents a can and then advertised that it was on sale. I can get it at Petsmart for 20 cents less per can.

This just ain't right.......

For those in the midwest, it was Price Chopper. The Friskies was on the shelf right next to their store brand, some of those kinds are on the recall list but I didn't see any on the shelves. There were no signs warning people of the recall in case someone had purchased them in the past. I'm sorely tempted to switch grocery stores.

I would, it tells you how they handle setting prices, and that is not how I want a business I frequent, to do it.

I could understand their advertising what they carry that is not on the list, doing a true special on it, but doing what you describe? Not cool, and not good business imo.

I would write the head office of the grocery store. It's a nasty corporate thing to do I would tell everyone I know not to shop there. It's like spikeing the price of water durring a drought.

Thank you! I did just that. Sent them a nasty e-mail that included my name and home address so they will know that I'm serious about this.

The more I think about it, the angrier I get at this store!!

And btw.....I just googled "Price Chopper" and noticed that there is another chain out east. This is a midwest chain of stores, mostly in the Kansas City area.

It's sad when companies do stuff like that.

Unfortunately it happens often, and not just with that store or those products. You will find the same thing happening with cars, funiture, appliances etc.
