How do i remove very very very bad stains.

I need some help desperately on how to remove Meldrew and make-up stains white towel and sheets as well as a very bad lime green pillow case.

That are really bad and I don't want to give up just yet. I've tried soaking in vanish and washing in vanish many many times but nothing is working and can't afford to throw them.

Please some help.
I am so frustrated that yes, im almost in tears.

Do you have any Oxyclean? That is the best product I have found for stains.

I was going to suggest that also. If that can't get it out, I don't know what else can.

I have had good luck using a solution of dishwashing crystal stuff, I am talking about the stuff that you put in your dishwasher.

You can also make a paste of out the stuff and scrub the stains with it too.

Oh drat... I don't have any right now, and I don't remember the name -- but there's this EXCELLENT stain formula, a mainstream product at the grocery store, that has never failed me. It's easy to recognize, because it comes in a divided bottle, so the clear part and the pink part mix together only when you squirt it on the stain. You let it soak in awhile, then wash normally -- and you can squirt some more of the stuff into the wash load, too -- and it has worked for me every single time.

Alternatively... I read somewhere once that you can mix baking soda and white vinegar (the old school-project volcano stuff) as a stain remover... and also that you can mix plain water and baking soda, spread it on the stain, and let it dry flat in the sunshine before you wash it. Haven't tried those, though.

I've found the Shout Gel and Oxyclean powder combination gets out ANYTHING, even old blood stains. Use your regular detergent, too, and the warmest water possible.

Make sure to scroll down the page a bit because the first blurb is about removing from carpets or something. From laundry is the second or third one on each.

If it's all white stuff, though, you can try bleach. When all else fails and it's all white.. bleach will sometimes at least bleach the stain, even if technically it doesn't remove it.

They sell Nursery stain remover in the baby section and it works good too.
Also, as Bea said dishwasher stuff,with some regular laundry soap or liquid hand soap works for me.

Calm down It's just a pillow case and a towel. Both easily replacable and nothing to get so worked up over.

Makeup is made up of oils, and very difficult if not impossible to get out. Why not simply put the pillowcase on the pillow with the makeup side down toward the bed.

I would recommend bleach except that can weaken the fibers of the fabric.

Unfortunately, and I have learned this from personal experiance, if you have already washed it the stain has set. Once water hits makeup stains they stay for good. I can't even count the number of times I forget to wash my face at night. I have stopped using white pillow cases for this reason, I now have black. Sometimes I have really, um, sexy make up for relations with my DH and that get every where. The best thing I can suggest is bleach. It will weaken the fabric a bit but if you don't use it all the time you should be fine. also try this stuff called Blueing. Its in the grocery store. I don't know how it works because its blue but whites come out bright white. My MIL uses it shes 80 and I guess its some old school thing. The oxybright works but make a past with it and let it sit over night. Hopefully something will work but sadly the stain has probably set already.

The linen that was stained is as clean as it just came out of the store i brought them from. I soaked them in chorile for about two hours and that back to their origanal colour, im very happy about that.

by the way, Kirst, it's off topic but I love the kitty puzzle signature. That's too cute.
