I'm worried for Joey, he's eating and drinking but he isn't totally himself, but there is nothing they can do for him right now, he's also on an antibiotic. He just wants to be held all the time and to cuddle with me

He could just be stressed from the vet visits and needs a hug. Hope he continues to improve

Aaawww, bless him. When I got Alan he had really bad cat flu and was sneezing blood, it was awful and he was on antibiotics. I found that he was way more snuggly and attached than he is now. I think they know when they are a bit under the weather and just like children they want more cuddles and love! He probably just wants to be as close his meowmy as possible. Bless him, and like the previous thread said, he was probably quite stressed from all that went on. I really do hope that he is okay and continues to get better. Make the most of all his cuddles and love as when he is even better he'll be running around and playing again! Lots of good vibes being sent to you both. Take care.

That's kinda how Bobber was after her surgery. She isn't a real "needy" cat but I think she appreciated the extra attention we gave her after surgery-she was like that after her spay too.

Joey has been through a lot and might be very tired.
Do you have a way to take his temp?

Sweet Joey remains in my prayers.

Thanks Lei, yes I just took his temp it's 100.5, I have a call into the vet right now just to ask her a few ??? I'm pretty sure if my kidneys were enlarged I wouldn't feel good either, but I hate to see my babies any other way but Happy
He did go out in the yard this morning, but only for a bit then came back in to lay by me.

Maybe he just wants some quiet time with his mommy while he gets over the stress of the last week or so. After Scully's op, he didn't leave my side for a few weeks

Continued vibes for his health

Keeping sweet Joey in my thoughts and prayers. I hope his clinginess is just a response to the stress of the last little while.

I have been waiting all day for this vet to call me...they are on my last nerve and are about to lose a very good customer

He is still very snuggly.

Okay she finally called and told me some test results too:

His spleen showed some nodules but they think they are okay...His lymph nodes are enlarged and there is a possibility of lympho sarcoma

also another thing would be nephro toxicity...I have no idea if that is even spelled right. so in 3 weeks we are doing the kidney values test again if they are normal then he will be checked in another 3 months. She said if he does have lympho sarcoma it's treatable in cats, they usually respond well.

Also she thinks he's clingy because of what he's been through nothing medical

I don't know what lympho sarcoma is or what nephro toxicity is? I will look it up. But the lympho sarcoma is treatable even though we hope and pray he doesn't have it.These three weeks are going to be painfully long. Did she have any reassurance to give you? Was she positive about how he is doing now? Too many questions. We are still sending so many vibes to you both, and hope and pray that he just gets better and better. I know how awful this must be for you right now. You are a loving Mummy and that will make all the difference to him.
He was scared when he was unwell and not with his mummy, he's just making sure that he stays where he knows he is loved and safe, so not letting you out of his sight bless him. Take care of each other x x x

He's just snuggly because he's not well, and had a rough time at the vet. that's pretty traumatic for a kitty, he obviously see you as safe and doesn't want to leave your side
I wouldn't worry about that!

Did they say if they wanted to do an aspirate of the lymph nodes? It could help determine if he does have lymphosarcoma (also known as lymphoma).
It is treatable but there is no cure. Basically, its cancer in the lymphatic system. With chemo, and steriods... most have about 1 - 2 years depending on how well they respond and how advanced it is. There are exceptions to the rule... my clinic treated a dog who made it 5 years after his diagnosis. I also have a friend whos cat was diagnosed with it at 6 months old. They told her that with treatment she had 6 months to live... she will be 3 years old soon. She has been in remission for about a year and a half.
