I just got home with Joey, he went right to his food bowl
He still has his IV in his leg and he's not thrilled with that. Unfortunately they have no results back on the urine test yet and his temp was 104, I am so worried about that temp it was 105 on Sunday, it's barely going down
Please still keep him in your prayers we are not out of the woods yet

I am glad that you have Joey at home, maybe that is what he needed.

I am sending more hugs and prayers from Mississippi for you and him and David and the other kitties.

Please keep up updated on how he is doing.

in a pile of open toed shoes!
you better start boiling him some chicken Helen.... I think he's sending me messages....wait it's coming through.... yes, he wants chicken....

Seriously though, don't they have some type of "tylenol" for cats....I know real tylenol/ibuprofin will kill a cat, but don't they have something that can reduce his fever?

Poor Joey! I will keep the handsome little guy in my prayers! If you want to help keep his fluids up and lower his temp a bit go to the store and get some Pedialyte (infant electrolyte replacement - the walgreens brand works fine!) give him several dropper fulls every few hours- this will help
/ Also - even though his temperature seems really high for us the normal temperature (rectally) for an adult cat is between 100 - 102.5 degrees ....so while 105 was a bit high - please don't be too terribly worried over that- it was only a few degrees higher than normal. The iv your vet gave him should be helping
The more fluids he keeps in him the better he should do and the more his temp should go down. I'll keep him in my prayers

Thanks Nikki, I went and got some unflavored and he took it no problem. Now we have to worry about his Kidneys being enlarged and his bladder and stomach issues WTH I'm going crazy over here, he is so uneasy and he wants to bite his IV out

Awww Helen
I'm glad he took the pedialyte- that's great news
keep your chin up- that is a great sign! I would be worried if he had no appetite/thirst
So that's good! Now here's what you need to do to keep him from messing with his IV - go to the pet store and get a small E-collar for cats /small animals. When you get it home, put zip ties (or something similar) through the holes in the bottom of the e-collar - if there are none, take a hole punch or ice pick and make some) then put the zip tie through the hole and attach it to Joey's collar - this way he CAN NOT get the e-collar off
This will keep him from messing with his iv and it will ensure that the iv does not come out. Also- if you have a small space (cage or small bathroom) it would really be better for you to put him in there to keep him quiet- the more he moves around the more it can aggervate his iv- which can make his little leg sore). PM me if you need anything
I think he'll be just fine hon- you're taking such great care of him! Also you want to keep him quiet as well so his fever will lower.

Awwww bless his little cotton socks look at him
That's a great idea what Nikki said, and failing that you could always make him one from the cereal box like i had to with Rosie when she was spayed
