We have a routine in our house - because we can't figure out which of the ginger cats is peeing in the house, they are both now sleeping in the garage. They are perfectly happy in there and annoyingly enough, haven't pee'd in there either

Now, this leaves our Willow rather bereft in the house alone. She's a funny one, she doesn't notice any cats around her, doesn't want them near her, but she "drifts" about all lost and lonely without another feline in the house... so we have got ourselves this little darling...

This is Dutchess, now called Luna, because of her colouring. The Animal Control Shelter thinks she's a chinchilla x british shorthair - do any of you cat-philes know your breeds better than me?

She's gorgeous!
She looks like the Fancy Feast cat. I do think she looks like she has those breeds in her... that color is very unusual in moggies.
I hope you find your culprit soon... poor naughty babies.

Shades of Tobie!!!!
(see cat in above siggy fro more info!)

Congratulations, she's lovely!
I do see BSH but I don't see any persian (the chinchilla) or exotic shorthair influence in her. To me she's a white smoke DSH and a pretty one at that!

Well, I've been trawling google images and found this beautiful cat on this site...Cattery of British Chinchilla

No disrespect to the owners of this kitty, but he could be the twin of our Luna. I must try and get a better picture of her - the flash washes out the gorgeous dark grey shadowing on her coat. She even has the same pink nose and dark pads.

She's a gorgeous kitty! You're completely justified in being a proud mommy!!

May I recommend a vet visit for both of your ginger cats? If they're not neutered (altered, desexed) already, they should be at said vet visit. Urinating outside the litterbox, even erratically, can indicate a VERY serious health issue in male cats (I'm making the assumption they're male, as 70% of orange kitties are
) If it's not a health issue, look into a product called Feliway. I'm not sure about it's availability in NZ, but many people have had a lot of success using that product

Hey, I was just thinking about you the other day, and wondering how you were. I am in NZ now - in ChCh so a bit far from you.
I had great success bringing my kitties!

Sorry to change the subject. That is one gorgeous kitty!

Thanks for that... my gingers are both girls! Now the odds of getting one ginger girl were remote, but two?? When I took them to the vet when they were babies to be neutered boys, they both came back as spayed girls.

They have both been to the vet and nothing seems to be the problem physically. The vet suggested stress from neighbouring cats. Whatever their issue, it seems to have gone now that they sleep in the garage
cats are wierd

I had some feliway in a spray for them when we emigrated to NZ from the UK. Somehow it didn't make the journey... it was certainly with them when I left the girls at the cattery
I actually don't know if they stock it here or not...
