I'm a new member to your friendly-looking forums. Is this the largest cat owner forum site online? It's certainly a bit daunting!

I have just one cat right now: Sammi, an orange/yellow mixed breed male. I'm honestly not any sort of expert on cats, just whatever's cute and friendly works for me. Actually I found Sammi in the weeds by the side of our road (in the country) while picking blackberries. There was no mother cat around, and his eyes weren't yet even open... so it's a bit of a mystery where he came from. I feel lucky every day that I chose that spot and that day to go berry-picking!

Hello. i'm not much of an expert either and the cats i usually like i like for their attitude, and spunk or intelligence. but i have noticed that i like a certain body type but idk... my cat has alway been healthy and happy so i must be doing something right.

This is such a great site, and it is filled with so much information, it is also very helpful
, Also everyone here is soo nice and also we do like to have fun around here too
But any who, maybe when u get a chance u can post some photos of sammi, we just
photos here! It must have been fate for u and sammi to find each other
similar to me and my bella who was abandoned on a busy street in 90 degree weather! She was already a year tho the vet estimated and she was spayed! IT was funny because the day I found her I had to go to the doctors because my wisdom was bothering me and i had uncontrollable pain and i went to my moms friends house with her and it was street sweeping day so we had to park all the way down the street, next thing i know im making my mom knock on everyones door
Fate works in mysterious ways wat can i say

I appreciate the friendly welcome.

Kirst, I named Sammi after Sammy Davis, Jr. Don't know why I spelled it with an "i"
but that's the way I always think of him.

ProudKittieMom, I seem to have a thing for finding abandoned cats. I used to live in Kumagaya, Japan, and since I'm always walking around... twice I found boxes of kittens that had been dumped along the side of the road. It made me so mad. I can tell the stories another time (I took them to a local vet and they were fine, btw).

Sure, here's some pictures of Sammi.

Sammi certainly is a very handsome guy and he's lucky that you found him that day!
I see that you already know how to post pictures, but if you need help with anything else, please click on my user name and send me a private message

What a beautiful kitty. rescuing them is my mothers favorite form of getting animals. the first kitty she had, he was run over, and he was in the middle of the road and all the other cars were just going around him
. she stopped the car, went out and saw that he was alive. she picked him up(he was too injured to fight) and took him to the vet immediately. she nursed him back to health, named him Chance, and he became her cat. my dad was NOT happy. but she didn't care. me and my sister were really young and we would play with him. i look back now and feel sorry for the poor kitty. we were in a duplex with senior citizens and we were kinda lonely, so we played with the kitty. i think Chance had been someones pet before because he would let us play with him. he didn't like it too much but he didn't scratch us or anything cause of it. if i remember correctly, he was a lot like my kitty now. dignified and royal. lol

It's great to meet everyone. ILoveMyKitty, sounds like your mother was a real angel and Chance was incredibly lucky she was driving on that road at that time! My mother is the same and has a big heart when it comes to animals, though actually she's a horse nut and prefers them to cats or dogs. I don't understand it myself
ha ha, though when I was young I used to ride.
