Snow? April? Alabama?

Okay, this is getting ridiculous! It is snowing!
With snow on the ground! Less than an hour north of us!
I hope it comes here! If it does (but looking at the radar on the tv right now, it isn't looking likely ) I'm getting my 3 year old out of bed and putting her hat and gloves on her!

It was 89 and 90 degree record breaking heat last week...Good grief! Low tonight is 26...

Isn't Alabama in the deep South? I didn't know it even snowed there in the first place.

I want snow!!!!!!!

Yes, it does, but hasn't snowed with any significant snow on the ground in central Alabama where I live in at least 3 years . My daughter is already talking about "maybe next year..." Poor kid-she's seen it coming down, but not a white yard . We had a huge snowstorm in, let's see, 1993? The 6 foot + snow drifts and all . If the forecast calls for flurries with ANY accumulation, all the bread and milk is gone from the store shelves, and schools start announcing delays in school openings...

I was in Ohio for about 3 years when I was 4-6 years old, and I love the snow (not to drive in, mind you- just to play in Oh, and born in CA, btw! ).


I want snow, too, Nikki! If I could wish it down here, I'll have it come through your neck of the woods first!

I hear ya! I gotta go outside and cover up my veggie garden with blankets because it is going to snow here today!

I feel sorry for the grass. It's beautiful and green from the warm snap, but as soon as it gets above freezing again it's all going to thaw out and rot.

80's/90's and then a low of 26? Wow, it doesn't even get that crazy here.

When we say "If you don't like the weather in Alabama, stick around for a day or two- it'll change", we aren't kidding!
We get everything from Gulf Coast hurricanes to mountains snows to beautiful days in between all that. (a little OT) I read in the newspaper yesterday that we have the biggest diversity of fish species in the US! It's no wonder! Something for everyone!

Sounds like Kansas weather!

It was high 80* all week and then bam, out of nowhere Wednesday it turns cold!!! *shivers*
