Hello everyone!!
I thought I should introduce myself, my name is Melissa and I live in Australia, I have 2 cats at the moment...I am in the process of introducing the cats to each other. My number one cat is Sarah and she is a black and white Siamese cross, we rescued her from a shelter and we have had her for 2 years. She is an indoor cat and gets taken outside for walks in her harness, if anything scares her outside she is quick to dash back inside. She is spoilt rotten she has heaps of toys and gets lots of cuddles and kisses, she is my baby.
We (my partner and I) rescued another cat from the same shelter a couple of days ago, and learnt the hard way that you can't just shove a kitten into another cats territory and expect no fights
, we are going to try a lengthy introduction. Anyway getting back into what I was saying about this new kitten we rescued
its a boy named Ollie and he is around 6 months old, he is a semi longhair and is a tabby and white colour. He has these huge eyes, massive ears, and big paws so we know he's going to be a very big boy.
I also have a 3 year old Quarter Horse/ Appaloosa Cross filly pony and I am just starting to ride her, she always has a supprise for me when ever I am riding her, most of the time they are good supprises but a couple of days ago she decided to walk off when I was half on her back after mounting bareback, ofcourse I slid of her back like it was butter onto my butt.
I trim her myself and I am into barefoot trimming. I am going to become a barefoot trimmer as a career but I have to save up for the trimming course first.
I love to go fishing and bird watching....I'm sure there is heaps more I can yack on but I'll leave it there for now..
(excuse me if I come out with these strange sayings I'm an aussie
)

Wow thank you all

Ok here are some snap shots of Sarah

This last one is Sarah defending our property against a small puppy...

I haven't got photos of Ollie yet...as at this stage my partner and I are unsure whether too keep him

I'll have to edit some of my photos of my pony, then I will post up some of her!!

Welcome to TCS!

Sarah is a beautiful girl! Such pretty markings on her face. There are some great introduction tips in the behavior forum, so you might check those out. I do hope you are able to introduce them successfully so you can keep him

I look forward to hearing more about them!

Hi and Welcome to the Forum, this is a great place to get information and meet new cat owners. Sarah is a cutie, and should you decide to keep Ollie they will learn to like each other.
I myself lost one of my cats a few weeks ago and have since adopted another 11 month old kitten from the Humane Society whom I named Linus.
My remaining cat Sassy was not to crazy about Linus when I brought him home but warmed up to him after a few days and now they are the best of friends.
I found that playing with both at the same time speeded up the process and plus I was there to intercede should things get out of hand.
I look forward to seeing pictures of you horse as well.

Hi Melissa,

I too am a newbie to this site, I have 5 horses all of whom have been barefoot for around 7 years now. They haven't had a lot of work in most of that time but considering the drought they haven't done too badly. One is a thorougbred who had shocking feet when I bought her. Cracks and infections soon got sorted, now she is fine. Another is an Anglo and she has the hardest hooves. I have moved to where it actually rains now!

I can't say thank you enough to you all!!
, well it was sad but we decided that it wasn't a great situation to keep Ollie...we tried to find him another home, but with no success, so we decided to take him back to the shelter...we actually found out that Ollie had nearly found a home a few times, but because we had put a deposit on him we had first choice. So I don't think he will have troubles finding him a new home.
We also made a $100 donation to the shelter and donated one of Sarahs cat beds plus some food.
So on a happier note here are some photos of Topaz my cheeky filly...

Sorry if this photo is a little huge...

I have had Topaz since she was a foal so she is my big baby
..
I am just starting her with riding out on trails, and she is proving to be a really great trail horse.
