Well, we met this dog a few weeks ago, on our walk, they asked us, if we wanted another Lab, we looked at him, and they showed us a white Pit Bull, oh boy was she gorgeous!! She had tags on at the time.. And then, today, my grandma, was helping my sister out with the kids, and they saw her!! With NO tags!!
She had her collar on, and she was in heat a few weeks ago, and she is not spayed as of now!!
If she is at my grandma's in the morning she said she would tell me. I don't know if she will stay, but if she does, I hope my grandma snatches her. I don't know what to do, if she is still there in the morning. Should I keep her, and rehome her?? Or should I give her back?? I don't know what to do! There dogs NEVER run loose. And this one happens to run loose??? I am angry at this, I don't know what to do... That dog is VERY friendly, she hugs, she is good with cats, kids, and dogs, rare occasion for a Pittie. First good one I have met. I have met only fighting dogs.
Sorry to say, our next door neighbor (old neighbor) used to fight them, and had them on big old chains when he walked them...
But, anywho, what should I do??

If she is in heat, it's very possibly that she has broken loose.
I think if the time comes, you will know in your heart what to do.

Though I am sorry that your only experience with pits has been the bad side, they are very wonderful dogs.
I do commend you for not letting her breed dictate your line of thinking.

If she sees her, maybe she will take her, and put her in her garage, until I can get in there.
I think I might foster her, until these people can be responsible, or just take her back, I think they will probably miss her.. Well, we will just see if we see her in the morning.

they are such wonderful dogs! you never know they could have gave her a bath and she snuck out and forgot to put her collar back on. but you really never know. she is probably safer in your hands.
if you are going to rehome her and foster her, please do get her spayed.

an ice cube in Iowa...
I love pitties too.

Contrary to popular belief, a well-trained and managed pit will be wonderful with kids, and an excellent companion animal.

I think the best thing you can do in this situation, is if you catch her, call your local animal shelter or Humane Society. They will handle the whole spaying issue, and tell them you know who the owners are...you are just concerned about an intact bitch wandering around the neighborhood, and you're concerned that they won't take care of their responsibilities with her. And leave the rest of the situation up to them...they'll probably pay the owners a visit or a phone call, and let them know that they have the dog in custody.

I would not take the dog in at this time to try to foster it, particularly since you already have so much going on with the pets you have currently. Mika's about ready to have a litter, your mother won't spay her, etc. I would only foster this dog if you yourself can afford to spay her, and if not, surrender her to the shelter, and provide the shelter with the owner's info, so that the organization can call and make arrangements with the owners for her spay and return, if they see it as fit and appropriate.

Well, just take her in, until we can get her to somewhere.
Because they had an intact Labrador there too... That I don't know if she was around or not.. But, possibly could have been around. They were getting rid of him too, with his AKC papers, and everything, and intact. Why not neuter him? And then they had more fosters there too, a long with their personal dogs. A Yorkie, and Two Golden Retrievers.

Who fosters intact animals? That seems fishy to me. I think most groups in illinois are not allowed to adopt out intact animals. Are they just unaffiliated with a group and taking care of these dogs? I have to wonder if they are trying to breed them or something.

I also think that pitbulls can be good dogs. The ones that aren't nice, just have bad owners.

I wish we could get one to pprove that they can be nice. And also because i think they are really pretty dogs. But my insurance doesn't allow it .
