I was just wondering if anyone had one of these. I've been thinking about buying one, but they are a little steep in price. Does anyone have one that their pet likes or enjoys? Would you get one for the right price?

I recently bought one on eBay; however, at the moment I intend to use it as a means of transportation for the pet carrier - for vet visits (I don't drive anymore). I really like the style of the stroller. It is navy blue and looks like a baby's stroller. The pet carrier fits in it nicely. I too am hoping to hear from people about their success in taking their furry ones for a walk (minus carrier).

I have two and am currently browsing for two more. The Pet Mobile II http://www.pet-n-go.com/ was our first stroller. At the time this and Kittywalk were the only ones I could find and Kittywalk hadn't come up with a double stroller. It's ok, but there is no privacy, it's hard to wash and does not do well on unpaved surfaces. I love the detachable carrier for travel in the car and it is roomy. Then I bought the pink Happy Trails Stroller http://www.petgearinc.com/Strollercollection.htm. It's roomy, shady and very attractive. This also doesn't do well on unpaved surfaces and can only carry one of my six cats.

They did not have off road and jogging strollers when I made these purchases so I am looking at the Kittywalk SUV and Double Decker as possible replacements http://www.kittywalk.com/. What I really want is a double pet stroller in Kittywalk style with the attractiveness and off road wheels like Pet Gear.

All of my cats love to lay in the strollers. My girl is very outgoing and LOVES walks. If I take her more than a couple of times in a week , she will jump into the stroller and meow for more walks. I have two that enjoy the walks once they realize they are NOT going to the vet. I have three shy cats who I have rarely taken out because they scream so much. That is why I want one with a privacy parlor. I feel it would be less stressful for them if they had that covered area in which to retreat. The double stroller has been fabulous for trips to the vet with multiple pets. I strap the carrier down and don't have to lug two heavy carriers,my purse, their bag and papers. The main reason I haven't walked them much is the weather. Here in Georgia, there is very little transition from winter to summer. It's often too hot or too cold. A stroller with shade will do better in hot weather and I am scoping out some doggie sweaters so I can stroll them in cool weather. I am in desperate need of exercise and as soon as I get a stroller that can handle rough terrain there will be no excuse not to walk them (and me). There aren't any parks in walking distance and apparantly the concept of sidewalks didn't stick around here.

I have driven a few times to a nearby park that has a path, birds, water and ducks. The cats loved it! It was great exercise for me and very stimulating for them. When we go home they were so content and relaxed. I plan on doing more of that once I acclamate them to the strollers

Mskitty666, did you strap them into the stroller, using collar or harness? Were you afraid initially that they might become frightened and attempt to bolt?

With most strollers, including the two I own, the animal is not restrained. Basically the entire carrier/stroller can be zipped or otherwise latched keeping the cat inside by netting or mesh. Some strollers that use netting advertise it as "rip stop". Most of the time I put on their harness and take their leash with me. In the event they were to try to escape I could quickly prevent it.

My cats border on phobic about being removed from the house. This started after our moves to and from overseas. Very traumatic. I know how they react and usually they will howl a lot then finally settle down. Often they attempt to bury themselves underneath the padding. When I first strolled them I quickly corrected attempts to dig at the mesh on the stroller. I start with walks just in my apartment complex so if they are highly agitated, we can return quickly. I was very concerned about how they would react at first. They adapt pretty well. If your cats might get hysterical, start with just short trips to your back yard or on your block. Don't let the fear escalate to escape behavior. If posible have something cool for them to look at like dogs or birds or squirrels.

I admit i'd love to try one

I think the boys would work with one, the one boy will lay in the car without a carrier he is that calm..

My girl would probably freak?

They are sooo pricey tho and i need something rugged since i live out in the country.. but maybe one day..

I would love one. One of my cats is very large and I am very small. I live in an upstairs condo, so when I have to take my cats to the vet, I have to carry them in their carrier down a big flight of stairs, then go through two gates that require a key, and then to my car. All in all, about a half a block from my house to my car. I end up having to set the whole carrier down about three times. This would make my life so much easier, not to mention wear and tear on my arms and shoulders. My female might enjoy going for "short rides". I would have to take it slowly and see how she reacts.

I don't live in the country, but there aren't any sidewalks. It's either in the road with these crazy drivers or on the grass. Petgear makes two types for this. One is the All Terrain 3 (AT3). It has three large wheels and is supposed to go off road. That's currently aroun $189.00. They make a Jeep Rubicon jogging stroller that has three large air wheels. Not sure how well it would do off road, but it's extremely similar to the AT3. Then there is their Jeep Wrangler stroller. It is exactly like the pink happy trails except it is supposed to be more rugged and has different wheels. That is around $100. Kittywalk makes three SUV strollers for off road. The cheapest I could find is $189.

This would make my life so much easier, not to mention wear and tear on my arms and shoulders.
That is very true. I use the strollers often for vet visits. I also have two bags I use if I'm only taking one kitty. One is a Samsonite Pet Backpack http://www.travelinnovations.com/sto...p?SKU=SBP-1000. It can be used as a backpack, over the shoulder or via carrying handle by removing the straps. Very convienient! I also have a Sherpa bag in this style http://www.sherpapet.com/products/de...ddetail_post=Y. My design has a tapestry of cats and it was $25 at my vets office! These bags are awesome! Much better than any carrier. They both completely zip to enclose the cat. The sherpa also has a leash ring. We've only used one of their hard carriers twice in the past five years. The first time is when we had to drive Karina to Florida to see a specialist and the second time was when Chester was leaking urine and had to be transported back and forht between vets. It reminded me of how difficult those things are.

I am very curious how you plan to get a stroller down your stairs. Other than that being a potential problem I highly suggest you get some travel bags or a stroller and stop killing yourself lugging around your kitties.

I recently bought a stroller for my eldest cat Kuce since she is getting arthritis and its getting hard for her to take her (some days) walks she loves to do. We haven't tried closing the door on it and take her out in it yet since she gets scared easy when in a carrier, but she is enjoying the carrier part when open. Hopefully she will like to watch the scenery when being pushed around.

Lil' Jag might like it as well but she gets frightened of strangers and might get out. And Luvbug - I know he will just freak out when in a carrier. He hates the plastic carriers as it is. At least he takes the harness ok.....

I want one, I want one, I want one! Friday loves to be carried or pushed around in anything. Usually our mode of transport is the laundry basket but he's also ridden in a wheel chair and a sheet. When I pushed him in the wheel chair he got mad when I stopped. The sheet was funny. My sister and I were folding it and holding either end. We were standing next to a bed and he just stepped off the bed into the sheet. We swung him from side to side like you might do with a child. He loved it! He's so much fun with stuff like that that I think he'd love a stroller. My husband objects to the price tag though! I'll have to sell some stories or something to save up.

I paid $88 for mine which was more than I could afford. I have heard of other members getting good deals though. If I see any, I'll let you know

Friday sounds like a fun guy!

Oh my goodness those kitties in the strollers look sooo cute!!! I think I will be saving up some money, I bet our cats would love it, they are always in the window, even the blind cat has to be in the window if it is open, she must like all the smells and noises!

Resurrecting the old thread, but I just placed an order for the Kittywalk Doubledecker stroller for my two kitties (a 13 pound male and a 6 pound girl). I got it through overstock.com for under $100. A woman at my pet sheltered mentioned it to me during a phone call today.

Anyway, I'm hoping that (a) my babies like it and (b) the weather in Chicago finally gets nice enough to actually take a walk!

My babies aren't spoiled - last week I used a birthday gift certificate to get them the Drinkwell Platinum. Dharma thinks it's the best toy she ever saw!
