I would be so mad if I was the breeder! I will take any of my cats back at any time for any reason, period! If I found out a shelter had a cat of mine surrendered from an owner with the papers and never tried to contact me as the breeder I would be upset, who cares about being confidentiality issues, I would want to know the owner surrendered him. Why do they want to protect the identity of some one who dumps any cat or dog? It should be posted for every one to see! These people will go and get another and do it again. I hope the shelter gets him into a rescue at least. I am glad I know where every one of my kittens are so far and have updates with their owners often, and a few of them have came back for a second kitten too.

Watching the robins sing!
I couldn't agree more. Maybe you are talking to a "volunteer", so maybe they don't know all the rules. Is there a sheltr director that you can express your concerns to? I would try to pursue that! (If you haven't all ready)

Yeah, I don't live too far from there, I don't think. I'm not sure exactly where Ashland is, but if it's *anywhere* near the DC metro area... there's a limited number of Bengal breeders. I just saw this thread. I'll put the word out to the two Bengal breeders that I deal with and have them see if they know of anyone if it's not them.

Ashland is basically a Richmond suburb, so its not far from DC. I have contacted a VA bengal rescue org and let them know about him, and they said it would be posted on their group site, so hopefully someone can help him soon.

I live in Ashland, outside of it really and am quite familiar with Hanover Humane Society. They are a wonderful group and will do whatever they can to ensure this little one gets a good home. I have worked with them frequently over the years and know them to be kind, compassionate people with the animals in their care.

That's great to know! I have not been in the area long so am not familiar with the various shelters yet. I just look at the websites all the time "window shopping" even though I can't get one for almost 3 months.

aww! poor cat! He is gorgeous! Lucky hates other cats when they first come, but then she gets used to them, and she is fine with them.. She just has to get to that cat, that it is her house, not theres.

Heh, yeah, Noel has that attitude, and it has yet to really affect either of my two Bengals attitude that nothing can top them. Kahn will occasionally defer to her, but really, he comes back for more and has no problem pouncing her upon occasion. I tell him he's on his own and I'm not rescuing him when she starts beating the crap out of him for acting the retard.
