Pelosi is in Syria. I agree, it sends mixed signals.

She is totally undermining the efforts of not only the US, but many other countries as well. Syria is not too shy about supporting terrorism, and her visit signals that she and the Dems don't care, or the US and the world don't care on the larger scale.

She also is managing to botch whatever "peace talks" she has in mind between Syria and Israel. She told Annan that Israel is willing to take up peace talks again, and as soon as that came out Israel came out and said that is NOT the message she was given to send to the Syrians. They said that Syria must give up supporting terrorism before any peace talks can resume. (At least that's what Fox's ticker said...)

Need I comment?

Remember when diplomacy was considered a GOOD thing?

Diplomacy is a good thing, but not if it undermines what the US and Europe is trying to do, which is to isolate Syria to influence them to cut their ties with known terrorist groups, as well as closing the border with Iraq where a great many of the "insurgents" are coming from.

And Pelosi would shrug off any White House criticism of anything she does, whether justified or not. However, I did not know that Republican lawmakers met with Assad earlier in the week. Interesting...

Oh, so diplomacy is only the republicans job? They've done such a good job of it these past 6 years.

I don't see a problem with it. Exspecily since Republicans did the same thing and got nothing out of Bush.

I think Ms Pelosi thinks she is the President.

The really striking development here is the attempt by a Democratic congressional leader to substitute her own foreign policy for that of a sitting Republican president.
I must say that I am not a Bush supporter. I never voted for him and I don't like most of what he does, BUT he IS still the president of the United States and the speaker should NOT be undermining him like this!

But she has that nice big government jet to haul her around now, what else is she supposed to use it for???? Surely not just to run back and forth to CA in....

BTW, that was sarcasm for those of you that don't know I'm a stout Republican.

Now, she is putting our troops in danger. Niiiice woman this Pelosi.
And whatever happened to those 5-day work weeks she promised?

What a concept, a 5-day work week.

I know the Reupbs are no better, but she had made a big deal out of this.
