I have to tell you that I found a hairball on the linoleum the other day and I was soo appreciative I went to both kitties and thanked them for their choice of venue. Bella then repayed me by choosing to puke on the radiator

I guess I've been quite lucky... as Baylee hasn't ever had a furball, to my knowledge!

When Sho used to get them he'd make sure to leave them on the floor, on my side of the bed or right outside of the bedroom door. I'd always find them by stepping in them

Once when he was having problems with foods I awoke from a nap to a "uurk uurk" noise to see him standing over my head
I promptly pushed him off the bed. When he was younger and sick he would try to come to me because I'd rush him to the bathroom and hold him over the toilet, so it's my fault if he comes to me when he feels like he'll be sick.

Tomas had his first hairball a few days ago (he grooms himself and Sho), I was able to get to him in time and put him in the litter box. I can only hope he'll go to the litter box the next time he has a hairball.

Strangely enough, Petunia, my long haired cat, has had 1 hairball since she's lived with me. Pepper, on the other hand, has them all of the time! Of course, I think it's because he's so thoughtful and grooms Petunia!

How funny!
I do the same thing too if i can "catch mine" in time
I'll rush them to the toilet or the litterpan and hold them there so they don't throw up all over the house
They don't like that
They prefer the beige carpet

Both of mine jump to the floor and deposit them there. Of course each has to throw up twice before they get rid of it, and they do that in 2 different spots. Abby mostly uses the floor, and Chynna will either use the floor of my area rug.

There's no place like home
Mine are not considerate. Their favorite spot is off the side of the bed so that when you wake up in the middle of the night and step off the bed, you get that sick squishy feeling between your toes.

My DH loves the cats. He's actually allowed them to hack them up while they lay on his chest. As he puts it - I can launder the shirt!

My girls tend to upchuck wherever they happen to be at the moment. I haven't seen or heard any evidence of Willow having hairballs, but Buffy will have them once in a blue moon and Molly is the worst of the three, hacking up a hairball at least once every couple of weeks. If she's on a couch, Buffy usually jumps to the floor and throws up the hairball there. Molly's the one that just lets it fly no matter where she is. Just the other day, she had been sleeping on my bookshelf, which had a towel on top for comfort, but I woke up to find a nice goop of hairball splattered on the drawer below (strategically placed for them to hop down on, lol). Along with that splatter, there was a nice trail from the edge of the bookshelf, on the towel, down to the newspaper clippings of mine that were peeking out from the shelf underneath, down the sleeve of a shirt, and finally onto the shelf. But, of course, by then there was nothing left for the trail to trail off onto, lol. Molly also hacks up hairballs onto the couch, on the carpet, and, occationally, on the hardwood floor. Her hairballs have a lot of liquid in it, so sometimes it means more vigorous cleaning, especially if she gave her present on the couch, which is fabric, which absorbs liquid.

Mimosa is very considerate, she leaves them in the shower stall. My boyfriend walks in there in the morning, all sleepy-eyed, finds her suprise (yeah, sometimes with his feet), throws it out and can clean the surface easily with the shower.

The boys just leave them wherever they feel like, but always on the floor.

When one of the cats needs to throw up because they feel sick they'll always come find us.

Nuh uh...might give me away!
On the carpet, of course. I wouldn't get so upset if I wasn't renting!! Oh well...I invested in a little green machine a while back and it works beautifully for cases like that. We'll mostly clean with paper towels, but give the carpet a nice scrub.

Then again, if I notice either of them coughing, but nothing comes up, I'll give them a treat: Petromalt! lol They think it's treat time when I pull that tube out.

Having two with long hair, I give Ginger Petromalt regularly, and her hairballs have decreased in size and frequency, but Ferris HATES the stuff.

I've tried putting it on his paw, and wound up having to clean it off the walls and floor and TV set where it had spattered from him shaking his paw vigerously. He refused to lick it off. What a brat.

oh i know that situation. I have marks all up and down walls and even one on the ceiling from the petromalt. Lucky is the queen of the shake! She'll walk around for hours or days with the last dregs of it on her paw but she will refuse to clean it off. That's why I've given in and just take her every few months to get groomed. No hairballs at all since then.

Lucky of course LOVES to barf for an audience, whereas Rambo likes to hide when he does it. He used to try and go for tile or hardwood. Even when he was a kitten and my apartment only had a 4 foot square bit of tile, he would always barf there.

Stumpy is the only one that gets hairballs/throws up from eating too fast, and it's not that often. When she does get one, she's usually on the carpet near her food bowl.

Our old cat LC had an allergy of some sort to chicken as it turned out (it took us a while to figure this out), and she would throw up often. But she would be in the kitchen near her foodbowl on the tiles and race into the carpeted lounge room to throw up - every time!!!!!

I don't know WHY she just coudn't stay on the tiles

Usually when im not home either so when get ready to jump into bed I find them in the covers. It never on my boyfriends side either! He thinks its hilarious but im just waiting for his turn, then we will see who's laughing.

Living in the land of not enough time
Pipsqueek usually has about 5 spots for me to find before he finally brings up the hairball. He actually spins in place trying to bring it up. Frantic will come to me so I can get a piece of paper under his chin just in time to catch it. But then again, he also will drink water too quickly (usually in the morning) and yack that up along with whatever is in his tummy, leaving a spout across the floor for me to find (with my toes) right out of the shower.
