i've sick with the flu/cold for two and a half days now. when will this end? Saturday night i was coughing and had post nasal drip. all that night i had the sweats and was shivering. then sunday i couldn't get warm but i was sweating, i finally threw up but was still sweating/cold and congested. today i called out from teaching, actually went in and left sub plans at 5:30am. stayed in bed practically all day. threw up a little again from my coughing.

so i found out today that my cohorts in my music department were 'put out' by the fact that i was sick. really makes me feel ok about taking care of myself huh? i feel like i HAVE to go in to work tomorrow even if i feel ill.

it's time for a vacation.

I am sorry that your not feeling well, I just got over the "flu" myself so I know just how you feel..Don't listen to what anyone tells you, just continue to care for yourself..Fast <<healing vibes>> are coming your way from us.

do any of your co-workers get put out when you call in sick?

I really feel crappy and would like to stay home tomorrow but I just don't want to hear the complaining.

Also, do any of you feel like you can't call out because you've just got too much to do?

I hope you feel better soon.

I guess I'm lucky in that my job isn't too demanding so it doesn't really matter if I miss any days.

Stay home, rest, relax and take some pills. They will probably be more mad at you when you get them sick. Or is that a good thing......

I hope you are on the road to wellness soon
I'm just about over a snotty cold, which was bad enough, those flu/cold viruses are just so mean now
Keep warm & take care !

Dont work colleagues get you up your snout when you are sick, like you would want all of them to come down with the same bugs - they'd certainly blame you then - HUH - just cant win eh!

But the best treatment for this is onion juice with lemon, honey and mix it with water. Sounds like joke but my grandmather used this all the time when we were young and I still do.
Onion contain many curative processes and works. Sometimes I think in America few people believe in this natural cure but it relieves the congestion of mucus and helps it escape the lungs. Make sure you use much honey.

Please look up yourself and you see this is true. It can help you very much.

Be sure to eat plenty of bananas so your potassium doesn't get low if you're vomiting/sick at your stomach. Also - pedialyte popcicles are great too to keep you hydrated! Feel better hon

I was going to say the same thing! I though you were going to say they were mad at you because you made them sick. I work in a small office and we are always yelling at the (2) people who get sick and won't use their PTO to go home and well. They then make everyone else sick - this is my second go round of whatever the 2 of them keep passing around. then one of the other women is furious with 1 guy who has been sick for 2 months -ear infections, bronchitis, etc. She is mad because he misses so much work! I just don't get it
if you are really sick go home and get better, don't make everyone else sick, too. OBTW, it doesn't affect how any of us do our jobs.

well i had to stay home sick again unfortunately. and yet again there was a crisis at my school that directly involved me. my chorus class was cancelled and the students were to go to recess (nothing new), but today it was a problem because they needed more supervision......... every day i look like a jerk.

maybe i am the jerk, guess i'll have to look at this more closely.

You should stay home and get well. I wish more people would stay home and keep their germs with them.
Maybe you should see the doc? How long have you had a fever?

I drink herbal teas, throat coat, a brand of natural herbal tea, is very thick and sweet esspecailly with honey, I like the purple conflower root one too, they are good even when you are not sick, If you have the flu and are throwing up the best thing to do isnt to eat, or if you do eat soup or something, its hard on your body to take in food reject it, again and again. Drink water but don't eat while your throwing up, If it gets really bad you may need an IV. Flus, long ago used to kill people they are MUCH more serious then people give them credit for. When I was a little boy I once had one that was so bad I couldn't keep food/water down for neary a week my temp was over 100, and I had to have an IV.
