Anyone owns or going to purchase a HI-DEF camcorder?

I am looking into one, Canon and Sony. I am wondering if anyone owns one or is in the market of getting one. Which one do you plan to get or what you think of the one that you already have? Thanks for the help.

I got one for Christmas; a Sony Handycam DCR-SR100. I haven't used it that much yet. I have a Mac, so I had to get some software in order to burn DVDs, which was not a big deal. You can buy a case for it to use under water, I think down to 10 meters. I liked that it has a "stupid" button that's sooo easy... no, wait, it's called an "easy" button.

Do we have different model numbers between Canada and US? I can't seem to find the model number on www.sonystyle.com site. Is this the same one that you got? That shoots 1080i?

I guess maybe the model numbers are different. I just realized it's probably not HD, though. I mainly wanted it for the night/dark filming and under water.
