A Happy Ending Kitty Story !!

HI !!
I am not sure I am putting this in the correct area... when I am here
I am normally in the feral cat / stray forum. Hopefully I posted this in
the correct forum.

I hope you all enjoy this happy ending story like I did.

well a professor i know had emailed me back about the recall food issue
and she started telling me a cat story... to give you a little back ground
info... this professor started TNRing all the cats on the campus and
keeps impecable records on them and re-catches them if they are
ill or injured and has socialized some that she could see were totally
adoptable and then adopted them out. she also volunteers at her local
shelter-humane society-rescue place (i'm not sure what it is) that is
very very involved in TNRing and educating the public and have started
a group that involves several rescue groups to do things like get donated
food to give it to those in need or those who are taking care of and
altering colonies of cats. she has done and continues to do alot for all
the kittys she sees outside. including feeding and sheltering them.
one older cat was an inside resident of one of the college buildings until
this one student who also works on campus and had been helping asked
to take her home and so now that kitty has a loving forever home.
in the beginning she had to battle and i mean some of what happened
would curl your hair, all the people above her because they had previously
had all the cats rounded up by the shelters to be put to sleep. in the end
she and the kittys won. i can't say enough about this woman !!

Anyway..... this are the email conversations about a cat recently found
by this woman on the campus.........

Email TO ME in reply to my email on the food info

Thanks.

I've been poaching chicken all week for my crew.

Sadly, someone dumped a cat that seems to have come

from a vet--shaved leg and tail. Then it started to bleed

from its mouth, so I rushed it to a vet who is operating tonight.

This is an adorable cat, declawed, who can't go outside again.

What a problem.

How can people do this to pets????

See you soon.

FROM ME TO HER

oh my goodness that is HORRIBLE !!! people are sooo sick !!

sending many prayers for that poor sweetie !!

let me know how the operation went ? and what did they operate on ?

did they know what was wrong before the operation ?

all fingers, toes and paws crossed !

FROM HER TO ME

I have good news tonight. It's a long story, but I posted a photo of the

cat with a found sign, and within three hours I got a call. Believe it or not,

it is the Provost's cat !

She has a brain tumor and seizures. Somehow, she got out of the house

and was lost for a week. Now she is back home with her family.

They were in tears, so full of joy when they came to my office to pick

her up.

So she is back on her medicine and healing. It turned out she bit her

tongue in a seizure yesterday. She also goes blind from them and

somehow crossed two roads and made it to school--lost of course,

but now found and safe.

Whew. what a relief. I can see that the simplest poster can be life saving.

I only posted 3 because I didn't know where to put them--and the family

was driving by and saw it.

Amazing tale.

(She's 14 and the same age as their daughter, who was full of tears.)

Now i'm tired.

YAY !!!! wasn't that a great story !!!

That is such a sweet story!!

Prettyboy, where in LI are you (if you don't mind me asking)? I am in Nassau County, Hempstead area.

We adopted our Roxie from All about Spay and Neuter, Inc's foster program. They are a wonderful shelter and organization that is also very big in TNR here in Nassau County.

Yes, she is a very dedicated woman. I don't know what we would have done without her. Even after we adopted Roxie she has still been very helpful to us!!

I am very close to Westbury... whereabouts are you looking to find an apartment? I will keep my ears open for a fellow TCS member!!
