Blood in anything is bad... Get your kitty to a vet ASAP. Good luck, let us know how the vet appointment goes.

Blood in the stool can be caused by food allergies, coccidia, giardia, I believe internal bleeding, among other things. When you take him to the vet, take in a fresh stool sample as well. You can call the vets ahead of time to ask their reccomendations on how to get a stool sample.

Sometimes they have a little blood when they strain. If you see it again - i'd go to the vet.

Blood in the stool is very common and has many possible causes. About 2-3 times a year my cat has diarrhea tinged with blood and mucus. For him it just means his system is upset. It stops within a couple of days and is not a major problem. But it took a middle of the night run to the emergency vet and $1000 to figure this out. See the vet, get an xray, and blood work. They'll give you some meds to calm the system.

one of my cats will have blood in her stool if she gets into the foster kitten food that she isn't used to. If the blood is bright red, that is good, it means that its fresh and usually just in the intestines. Dark, tarry blood is worse, meaning its something more inside the cat. My other cat pooped blood when he had roundworms.

My kitten is 8 weeks old and was a stray cat when born, Iv had him for about 3-4 weeks. In the past week I've noticed blood in his poo, and it's not just droplets, it's dark blood and does have a bit of mucous in it. His belly is bloated but he is not sensitive when I touch it. His poos are solid, but this is starting to worry me a bit. As I do not have the money at the moment for the vet, I really don't want my baby dying on me in the next week or two.
